13.06.2022 mid-afternoon on a weekday and the store was quite busy. Children's accessories section was a bit of a tip, had to rummage to find anything. Homewares sections was very tidy and orderly. Managed to find a worktop shelf which was sold out online. Queues at till were busy and slow.
Matalan is a brilliant shop. Brilliant location and has a great car park. Close to the riverside. Close to the football ground and close to the train station. And close to B&M. The staff are really friendly and the shop is always clean. Always visit here. Especially when it’s the run up to Christmas. 100% recommend!
I wanted to pick up a parcel from the Amazon Locker, but they had a fire alarm going. Despite the locker being 5 steps away from the entrance and some of they literary standing right next to it, I was told that I can't get it. After like 5 minutes of waiting, they just locked me out, because they couldn't turn the alarm off. They had a good laugh at my misfortune. No common sense and sympathy here. One day wasted on this.
Matalan stock a decent range of everyday essentials, and I find the men's shoes are often decent quality for the price. As are jeans. There is also a small range of homewares. However, staff have now started pressurising customers to use the self service tills. Which is fine until you get home and realise you still have a security tag attached to your clothes. So do look out for those.
I like this shop cause it have good clothes and it have good bargains and it do clothes for big women so I like that cause some time I have t Trouble finding the right size thankyou .
This is handy to have locally as a store, the clothing quality is poor though. It's better for other products. During the heatwave, there was no air-con and staff were expected to work in unbearable heat with no fans which is dangerous and unethical.
I found it to be a lot more expensive than it used to be.
Matalan have a great range of everything but their changing rooms are always dirty. This really lets them down. Why would anyone want to try new clothes on in a dirty room!
Great variety of ladies, mens and children's clothes also household items. They have larger ladies section called curves which is small but good clothes. Staff are lovely and helpful and the young lad who served me at the checkout was chatty and a joy to talk to.
The guys clothes are great. A good range, pretty good quality and a very good price. Yes they're not designer labels but who wants to be a sheep anyway. My only issue is the women's clothes...no not for me. The range, like the guys is great, but they don't do anything in store less than size 8. You can order them online so why not put them in store too. Not everyone eats themselves into an early grave.
