Usually have no problems with the click and collect service but this time I've been waiting 3 weeks for my order to arrive in store. I phoned up a week ago and was told it was on its way and to wait for an email but I'm still waiting. Also sent an email but was told again to wait for an email and text. No one seems to want to find out what has happened to my order I just seem to get fobbed off. Really annoyed at the customer service.
Went in today and purchased quite a few things. The store was tidy, full and well merchandised. The lady at the self serve till Michelle was absolutely lovely. She was funny, happy and helpful. Could not fault the service and experience in the store today. Please pass on my thanks to Michelle. She is a little star
I have shopped here for years and never had a problem. Today however, I collected my items and joined the queue. There were 5 people in front of me in the queue, with one cashier on the returns/cash/card till and one for card only/click & collect till and self service card only tills, plus 4 staff members chatting nearby. I was paying cash, I waited to be served, I was told continually that I had to wait to be served on the return till. Clearly customer service is no longer a priority here, I left my items after waiting 15 minutes to be served. Would it not be sensible to have someone else trained to take cash? I shall not be visiting this store in a hurry.
Went in to have a look at bedding. We found one we liked but it had no price so we asked a lady if she could help us she wasn't interested handed it back and was told we have to go to the counter ourselves. We went to the counter and asked fo help and just had a scanner thrown at us and told to do it ourselves. Staff had no manners and were rude the whole time we were there. We put the bedding back on the shelf and left. If this is how you want to treat your customers we will take our business elsewhere.
Bought a pair of jeans and went to pay for them. I was asked if I was paying by cash or card. I said card and the lady told me to go to the self service. I didn't want to use the self service and said I was happy to wait even though there was only one person in front of me for the cashier. I was then asked again and repeated what I said. I went to the cashier and again she asked if I was paying by cash or card. She again tried to force me to use the self service. I said I didn't want to and she tutted at me. I challenged her as this was so rude! Why can't you have the choice and why is it such a problem to wait. I was happy to wait. Not good customer service at all. This has put me off using Matalan completely!! I think you should train your staff with good customer service skills.
No staff on shop floor to ask a question and there is no way im standing in a long queue at the check out. Went shopping elsewhere instead.. your loss.
I visited the store on Sunday 15th May about 10.20 ..after collecting some items to try on went into the changing rooms and one of my items was dragging on the floor for a few seconds ,when I went to try it on the cuff was covered in thick dust/fluff ,then to find the changing rooms was covered in fluff hair and dust ..I didn't want to take my trousers off for fear of them getting covered in all the dirt ..when I told the lady working there she said oh we are short staffed and the cleaner should have cleaned it this morning..don't think it had been cleaned in months ..very horrible experience
Large spacious store. Great range of clothing and home furnishings. Sometimes have to dodge a bit of tat. I feel some things are a little pricier compared to supermarket clothing and home range. However children's clothing and shoes that I have purchased have stood the test of time. Unfortunately often there is a big queue at the tills. Free parking is a big plus.
Used to absolutely love matalan for there fashionable outfits but went in last week and found the clothes very older lady.
The store is laid out well, with quality products at reasonable prices. However they do get long queues especially since reducing the number of tills after their refurb a few years ago. This is not helped when they do have queues like today and have three tills not staffed although a member of staff did arrive to open one of these tills.
