Like Matalan but really disappointed that I've drove to the Reading store and it's closed 7:15pm Friday 31/5/24 but online says it closes at 8pm. Please update your details!
A very large store that sells all kinds from gle ware to male and female clothing, including children. Prices are reasonable, especially on the children’s section. There‘a plenty of free parking with disabled bays, wheel chair accessibility and all on one floor. 4 stars as the place could do with a tidy, there are random corners of mess and children section is a mess at times. Some of the staff are friendly, and some act like they don’t want to be there. There are self service checkouts, which speeds up the shadier process.
Still a great bargains store mainly for garments and household items with good quality and a convenient free parking. Unfortunately the changing rooms were disgustingly unclean with fluff on the floor, litter and as if it had not been cleaned or vacuumed for ages.
You get what you pay for, very good choice of clothing, would have got 5 stars but for a slightly complicated till system, wouldn't scan 1 item so spent 5mins trying to type in barcode numbers so small you could have done with a magnifying glass, wrong price with another item scanned then trying to swipe your matalan card at the end, all a bit tedious........
The lady at the customer service refused to let me exchange my item because I didn't have a receipt. I explained nicely that I had made the purchases a week ago and only wanted to exchange to a bigger size, bare in mind items had their tags and hangers. I had to then show her from my bank account that I had made the transaction last week. After then, she agreed to exchange. She should not be working at customer service as she is unaware of Matalan policy where it clearly states that items without a receipt, can be exchanged or given voucher.
Why is Matalan so far out. I had to get 2 buses to get there & then still a 20-minute walk.
Watch out for the car park. The management company will ticket for anything, including being on or slightly outside of lines. Park very carefully!
be careful when using this store. I have received a parking fine for being over the white line alongside my car. I had to do this as all the disabled spaces were taken and I needed room to get the doors open. now I'm £100 lighter. I1 did write to the store but they said its nothing to do with them.
Took back some unwanted Christmas presents 02/01/2024 to be told, NOTHING can be done, no refund, no exchange not even a credit note, basically, you just have to keep it! DISGUSTING
