John Lewis

John Lewis is generally pretty good; however, there's too much tat from China in John Lewis generally. The new cafe - very disappointing. Redecorated in depressing colours...that 'beige'!!! :( And the quality and range of goods for sale has diminished noticeably. The self-service is very disappointing. The position of the tills and how the cafe area generally is set up needs to be rethought. This used to be a really good quality restaurant. I use M&S or Patisserie Valerie now when in Reading.

I call this huge well stocked department store the Aladdin's Cave of Reading. Helpful polite staff. We use only this shop for large household items such as washing machines, fridges, dish washers because of their product guarantee and no quibble return policy. The cafe sells the very best scones in Berkshire. Unfortunately the cafe has been redesigned recently but I don't think it's an improvement. It was fine before. Drinks are from self service machines now. It feels like they've taken a step backwards in service. Bill's next door is better.

This company has gone to the gutter. All is good till there is a problem because when you do all they do is play arsey even if it is their own fault. In my case the order was erroneously put through by one of of the so-called partners in store and when I complained instead of resolving the issue they asked me to go take a hike. It was not even a small order and ran into several thousand pounds. I had been shopping at this store for years but after being humiliated like this I would never go back again. New ceo has made a real difference- way to go guys

The breakfast we had in the resturant was the worst we ever had, very expencive and poor quality.
