I have let properties three times through Martin & Co Swindon and found them to be first rate. Above all, they are straight and honest, which in my experience is unusual among Letting Agents. The team are friendly, efficient and trustworthy - having an agent that you can work with is invaluable. I will certainly be using them in future and would not hesitate to recommend them to other landlords.

Five stars all the way! I decided to switch letting agents because a mutual friend said what a great job Dave had done for them. Since I became a tenant last year I have been through a few local agents, all of which over-promised and under-delivered, leaving me feeling short changed, because being a tenant was becoming too much hassle.. Dave and his team has completely transformed things for me and I couldn't be happier! To start.. they have found me a great property. I was prepared to pay the asking price and commit for a year. They have done all referencing, credit check etc.. within a few days! They really ticked all the boxes! On the subject of fees, with my previous letting agents I always felt somewhat ripped-off with what I was paying, considering they didn't really do very much in return for a sizeable chunk of my income (I won't go into specifics about other agencies, but they couldn't even return calls when I needed help with problems.) Dave negotiated a very reasonable management fee, which I am delighted with. In addition, he was entirely transparent about what levels of service Martin & Co could offer, and clearly explained what I would need to have done at the start of a new tenancy, and what those things would cost me. There are numerous other small personal touches that I really appreciated, and from the start I have felt confident that nothing is too much trouble, no problem or question is too small or too big, and there is an attitude of common sense and CAN DO! which really is a breath of fresh air. They say if you want something done, ask a busy person! I know Dave is busy because he excels at his role and is therefore popular and in demand. But you never hear him say he's too busy. Phone calls and emails are returned promptly, I am never left wondering what's going on! In those days it is a rare treat to find a letting agent that goes that extra mile with the service they provide. Dave thoroughly deserves his solid reputation as one of the best letting agents, and every glowing review he and the team receives. My experience with Martin & Co, really is the best example of why it is worth doing business with a local firm who treat each customer (landlord and tenant) as a person with individual needs and bend over backwards to meet them. I wish I had done this sooner! Great team!

IRRESPONSIBLE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL Worst experience with an agency we've ever had Me and my partner were interested in a couple of flats they were advertising. I called on Tuesday morning to arrange a viewing of both places. I got booked in for one of them but was told they would get back to me about the other one as they needed to contact the tenant. The day goes by and no one calls, so I decide to call them AGAIN on Wednesday morning. They say they can't show me one of the properties as they don't have keys (why would they advertise a flat they can let you view is beyond me, but anyway), but they booked me in for a viewing on Saturday morning. I then had to call them a couple of hours before the appointment to know the address, as no one had bothered to give it to me or give me a call to confirm the viewing (which is the normal procedure with any other agency I have dealt with). So me and my partner get in the car, drive 45 minutes to get to Swindon and we're walking to the property when I get a phone call (15 minutes before our appointment) and it turns out they have to CANCEL our viewing. You can imagine how disappointed we were, but nothing in comparison to the anger I felt when I was told the reason for the cancellation was that they COULDN'T FIND the keys for the flat, they'd lost them! We were appealed and left speechless. We simply couldn't believe how irresponsible, unprofessional and rude they were to us, as the gentleman on the phone didn't even feel the need to apologise for what have happened. I work in customer service and I know I'd lose my job if I had to handle customers this way. Luckily we found a lovely two bedroom flat later on in the day with CHARLES HARDING agency, who were much more professional and efficient! Won't ever deal with Martin&Co again, and make sure I'll get the word around.

Absolutely disgraceful company. Never return your calls. Endless delays with tenancy application. Huge and ridiculous fees for sitting on their butts doing nothing Avoid
