Average food, portions are a bit stingy. Came here to watch the football a few weeks back, decided to get food here too because it seemed like a decent type of gastropub, wasn't too impressed. Chicken wings, fairly low effort but I remember they were a good £6-7 for just three fried wings drizzled with regular barbecue sauce. 5/10 Burger meat was pretty plastic-y, seemed like cheap pre-packed kind you get in the supermarket. Ordered the side of onion rings as an extra and got literally 3 tiny rings. 5/10 Calamari had a bit of an odd taste that I couldn't quite place. It wasn't *bad* necessarily, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were nearly on the turn when we got them. 4/10 Service was a bit poor, we didn't get cutlery when our food was served and I had to go hunting for some. No condiments offered either. They were friendly though, just not very attentive. As a drinking establishment it's a family friendly place, good space and benches outside are nice for a pint in the sunshine. Food was just average, but given the prices I would have expected a lot more.
This is a hotel/restaurant. In the hotel side, rooms are very simple. Bring your own shampoo, bath gel and conditioner! NO REFRIGERATOR. They will provide ice from the restaurant. No bedding service unless requested. Breakfast is VERY POOR and ranges in price. Nothing is complementary. Location is 1.5 miles out of the center so a car or taxi is needed
I have mixed feelings and with valid reasons too. Stayed at their hotel over Christmas and our booking had breakfast included. We only choose to use this breakfast booking for the 25th and 26th of December, and must I say I was disappointed of what was served for breakfast on Christmas! I initially thought that this is what they usually serve, only to go back on 26th and figure out that is not. Considering all places are closed for Christmas, I was expecting breakfast a little bit more, but instead we got served the bare minimum. Staff very agitated and not at all friendly on Christmas morning too, so disappointed with the service. 26th was a whole new experience and was what I would normally expect from a breakfast.
Service was good. Food was hot. That is about it. The lettuce was on a hot plate. The chicken was just chicken no seasoning. 3 pieces of lettuce. Fries. That’s it.Food: 3/5
The staff here are all fantastic. Nothing is to much for them. Even though they were obviously under staffed, the service was prompt and they were courteous. The food in the restaurant was excellent for both evening meal and breakfast. My wife described the omelette as the best she has ever had.Food: 5/5
Nice pub a little out of town however some lovely walks close by. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was nice and they mixed a very good gin Dietary restrictions: Clear information on gluten free options
Family outing with our son and a friend from USA - very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, good food and good company - what more could you ask for. Our waitress was excellent and good craic with the guy who gave us our bill. Good value too. We have been here several times in the past and will be again in the future.Food: 5/5
What a gem of a place to have lunch after an 8 hour drive from South West England. Plenty of parking at the rear of the restaurant. And no steps to deal with, so easy access for disabled customers. Our waiter for this visit was Lewis Brown, he was very polite, helpful and importantly he also checked to ensure we had no food allergies which my wife does have. Food was excellent!! I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger and my wife their Signature Burger. Both were excellent as was the home made coleslaw and the French fries. We were both full and shared a Espresso Martini Tiramisu which we both agreed was the best dessert we had had in a long while. I highly recommend it!!! Dietary restrictions: Chilli and Tomatoes. Parking: Easy to find and parking at the rear for both the restaurant and the adjacent hotel. Kid-friendliness: Lewis Brown our waiter was brilliant, polite, friendly and very helpful. But importantly it felt genuine. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps.
Our server was Shelby who was lovely and attentive . She got an extra table for us as we had an additional guest. She made sure our dog was comfortable giving him a blanket , water and treats. She made ordering easy for us and we had a lovely meal with our grandchildrenFood: 4/5
