This place is absolutely horrible. Stay away at all costs! There are inaccurate photos on the website to deceive travelers. The room we thought we were booking didn’t exist and we ended up paying almost $300 a night to stay in a depressing little crummy apartment on a dirty street that has sewer smell at the front door. Additionally, we were treated in an unhelpful way by staff. Lastly, they have an early checkout time 10:30 and state that a 12pm checkout is available for a 30 pound fee. They do not offer secure luggage storage. When we requested the late checkout we were told it’s not an option. This is ridiculous given that they provide no option for luggage storage or late checkout on the day of departure. What can a traveler do? I feel scammed and robbed. Rooms: Dark and small. Not as pictured on website. Noteworthy details: False advertising on the website as pictured rooms are not what’s provided. Bad smells everywhere. Unhelpful staff. And they kick you out at 10:30am and do not offer luggage storage.
Perfectly fine base for family trip to London. Everything we needed, clean and quiet. Not quite 5* as sofa bed was a bit hard, though fine for the kids.Rooms: 4/5
We loved your stay at Marlin for 3 nights. The apartment was very spacious and clean. Subway and a lot of food options nearby. The front staff were very friendly and helpful. Misbah and Shirley were very kind and helpful. I would love to comeback and stay at Marlin Apartments.Rooms: 5/5
The Marlin apartments were great. A group of 5 of us stayed here will visiting London last week and loved it. The location was great, the place was spacious and clean. The staff, especially Eamon were brilliant. Always avail to answer any questions we had about the area and the facilities near by. I would definitely stay there again Walkability: Very central
Awful place to stay. Fake pictures on the website led us to believe it was a nice place, but the real room was depressing and expensive and a totally different room from what was advertised. Weird smells in the hallway, a broken elevator, sewer smells in front of the building, and very unhelpful staff. We felt unwelcome and taken advantage of. Rooms: Totally different from what was pictured on the website. Tiny windows and much smaller spaces than photos indicated. Isn’t it illegal to falsely advertise here? Noteworthy details: They kick you at right at 10:30am even if you’re willing to pay the 30 pound fee to stay for an extra hour and a half. They also do not provide secure luggage storage. It’s a problem if your flight is later in the day. How can a hotel not provide luggage storage for a few hours?
We booked in for 7 nights. Marlin Aldgate Apartment was in a great location. Service was great. Rooms and kitchen facilities were perfect for what we needed. Would book again next holiday. Nearby activities: Restaurants shopping and tube Walkability: Could walk everywhere also could use the tube that was 5 minutes away Food & drinks: Restaurant strip down the side of apartment
My family and I are on our last night of our stay here and we have had a WONDERFUL experience. The location is great, just a hop skip and a jump from the nearest underground station which is super convenient and Tower Bridge is about a 15 minute walk. There is a convenience store right next door and a grocery about a 1/2 block away. Lots of restaurants near by with many different types of food. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating especially Hanad!!!!! That man deserves a raise, like, I’ll literally miss him when we leave . He gave us recommendations and help us without judgement as tourists on many occasions. The apartment itself was perfect for our family of four and was much more comfortably AND affordable than a hotel in a similar location! Our trip to London was a dream and are so grateful for the staff here for making us feel so welcome! Rooms: Comfortable, spacious compared to a traditional hotel room Nearby activities: Close to the underground, lots of culture, lots of food Safety: 24 hour reception and door are always locked Walkability: Good walkability!
Arrived with my email confirming my stay with all of my details and got told that all bookings were under my colleague’s name and I needed a copy of their ID in order to check in. This despite the fact my emailed confirmation from them to me was addressed to me, came to my email, had my name on the email confirmation and I had my own ID with me and paid with my cr card. Useless staff, no idea what they are doing for a pretty average place. Would not recommend and after this stay, won’t be staying here again.
Surprised by how convenient and sadly cost effective this was. The apartment was in good order. Too much conditioner on the towels ;Rooms: 5/5
This was our first time staying at the Marlin Apartments which had been recommended to us by friends. The location is perfect for a visit to London, close to the Tower of London and good restaurants and pubs. We found it very walkable. The apartment was smaller than expected but clean and met our needs very well. The view from the living room and the balcony was totally unexpected and a great surprise! I gave 3 stars for the rooms as they were small and 3 stars for service because we really didn't experience any although the staff on front desk were pleasant they did not go out of their way to be friendly, which is fine but a little more "hospitality chat", e.g. asking about what we hoped to do and providing suggestions, might bring the experience up a level : .
