I stayed at Marlin Apartments London Bridge Empire Square for about a month as I was in London for work. I really enjoyed my stay there and the apartment was very nice and cosy, as well as it being in a safe area. The reception was staffed for 24h so I felt the apartment was very safe with that as well. The apartment was nice and clean, and the cleaning staff came about once a week. You can take out garbage yourself via the garbage chute so that was not a problem. It was easy to order takeout to the apartment, and the location is great with close proximity and walking distance to lots of things to see and do in London. My apartment also had a great view of the Shard. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend Marlin Apartments, I read some bad reviews before going there and I do not share their sentiment at all as I was pleased with my stay and I am a female travelling alone. The only downsides were that there weren't enough kitchen utensils there wasn't any cutting board, cutting knife, scissors etc and the cutlery was very scarce only three forks, the TV remote was also annoyingly slow and the towel rack in the bathroom did not work. But other than that the stay was great and those were minor problems that didn't really make much of a difference. Would stay again if I go to London for work. Rooms: Nice, spacious and clean rooms that were very cosy and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable and I slept great for the entire stay. Safety: Felt very safe in the area, as well as with the 24h manned reception. The hallways are well lit as well. Walkability: Easy to walk to and nearby almost everything that is worth to see in London. Walking distance to basically everything else and easy with public transportation like the tube, buses and train nearby. Taxis were also easy to grab on the street.
Worst customer service. Couldn't even get proper number of towels. 4 towels for 6 people. The next morning we asked for more towels, 5:45pm.. still no towels. Attitude from front desk ladies over and over. Here for just a couple days and couldn't get them to give us a second bag of coffee with creamer and sugar. Curtain falling off, doors are super loud going in and out, no tvs in bedrooms, no trash cans in rooms. One tiny one in the bathroom and one small-medium one in the kitchen. The shower had just a half a glass door on it and the tub dangerously tall. I actually fell trying to get out. Horrible views and it's like walking through a large maze just to get to your room or back to lobby. Do not stay here. I worked over a decade in hospitality and toured many hotels. I don't know HOW this place is even close to a 4 star. Who are they paying for good reviews? This is a 2 star at best and that's only because of location.
Communication between staff needs looking into... Room smelt smoke Lady receptionist was lovely, location 10/10,view from apartment stunning. Other than above which can be dealt with, loved it, would stay again...
I would give -10 if it were available. The only acceptable thing about this apartment never call it a hotel is the room size. Reception guys are awful. Maintenance is not available. Devices are not working. They lie to you if you have any issue. My room does not have a phone intercom and for any request I have to go downstairs. They looked surprised when I said there is no phone in the room. After 2 days, I do not have that in the room yet and I will not have since the reception told me they do not have spare phone. Unbelievable. The washer dryer does not dry at all and Fernando who really does not care about the guests and just says tomorrow tomorrow said it will be fixed next morning but no one showed up. In the mid night there was another simple issue with bath strainer plug and the night guy was unfortunately Fernando again. He told me very relax not caring about the problem that prevent my family taking shower, maintenance guy will come tomorrow morning!!!!! It just needs some guy with appropriate tool. I asked him to contact the manager he responded he will not contact him at this time and gave me an email address to send an email to the manager.!!!!! Unbelievable. He did not do it himself. Just imagine a hotel that does not have any maintenance guy at night. If you have issues it is your issue and no one will be responsible to help you. If reception Fernando tells the truth and there is no maintenance guy available here at night time, this apartment is NOT SAFE for your family. What if some thing serious happens? I reserved this apartment for 5 nights. Now for 3 nights I have to follow to fix the issues. My real review is -10. Do not waste your money here and do not put your safety in jeopardy.
Good internet, staff were nice, good location to be in but bedding was slightly uncomfortable, there were cracks in the door to the balcony and on the washing machine, said washing machine wasn't very functional in its supposed dryer function also the rooms smelt rather fishy in a literal sense when entering them.
Booked a short term stay at this establishment and I can report the standards of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The windows and glass doors had not been cleaned in a long time and the curtains literally hung by a thread as the hooks had not been replaced. There was a few items missing from the kitchen area such as tea towels, although I reckon I’d have refrained from using any as the level of cleanliness was not good ! The housekeeping staff appear to think it’s acceptable to leave dirty soiled laundry and rubbish outside apartment doors, which I hasten to add is not only unsightly but in fact a fire risk ! There are numerous apartments in this building and only one elevator in operation which also can create frustration, as you can wait 10 mins to access the elevator ! I certainly won’t be returning here soon !
The only good thing about this establishment is location. 3 mins walk from the Borough station. But avoid at all costs staying here. Rooms are dirty, windows have not been cleaned in ages. Rooms are super dark, don’t believe images in the internet. It’s a 20 floor building x 30-35 apartments per floor and just one !! working elevator during my 3 weeks stay. Reception is not helpful at all. I was carrying multiple bags when checking in/out - no one cared to offer help. I moved to a different hotel upon first opportunity.
Location was OK, no views of the shard so a bit of false advertising. The rooms were cleaned ok to a good standard however they were very dusty and finger prints on the windows and mirrors. The bedding itself was lovely however we was missing 2 towels for the room. Apart.from that it was good.
Hi, room 132 was supposed to be non-smoking and you could not imagine the smoke smell. Terrible. We had to stay all time with open windows to mitigate the mess: yhis would be a 0 star for me. To be objective: the manager Nancy was trying to rearrange us another room and provided mitigation: finally it was no way to move or get smoke smell out. Other than that apparments are large and well organized; cleaning is good. If you do not mind smoke this is a 4-5 start location.
Great comfy bed nice and spacious only bad point is no TV in bedroom and no hair dryer for the price we paid £735 is a great locationRooms: 4/5
