We stayed in one of the 1 bedroom suites which was all ok, clean & tidy, although our room wasn’t serviced prior to moving into it which was quickly rectified by the reception team with a alternative room. The main problem with this hotel is the noise from the underground train which runs directly underneath the building. Our original room was on the first floor & the noise was near on deafening! Mixed with some local noise from the street overnight, we had an uncomfortable first night. When we requested an alternative room higher up the next day this was arranged with no fuss by the reception team, who offered their sympathy to our situation. We were relocated up to the fifth floor, one off the top, and the train could still be heard. albeit quieter than on the first floor! A welcome relief! The rooms are quite basic, very warm, bed’s bouncy and a bit hard, some noise from neighbouring rooms and some road noise through the night. If we’d known about the train noise prior to choosing this hotel, we would not of booked the hotel, as unfortunately this did impact on our stay. The staff and reception were great, they were understanding to our situation & did everything they could to make us comfortable for which we are grateful. We are a bit older & feel it would suit the younger traveller who may not be so fussed about a quiet nights sleep! Now I feel old!
Excellent apartment in a perfect spot for our recent visit. 24/7 desk security was friendly and mostly helpful, we only had one interaction that was not great and even had kind of had a heads up about that - the evening desk staff said the overnight guy was usually in a mood. Anyway, I have few complaints about anything related to this stay, other than a couple inconveniences. I had recently broken my foot and was using a scooter, so we could only use the lift - it's programmed for direct trips and on multiple occasions, it passed us several times before the doors opened. During busy times it took quite a while to get downstairs just from the second floor. Also, again an accessibility issue with my scooter, after exiting the lift on the second floor my apartment was up a short flight of stairs. After being out and about, it was exhausting to have to carry the scooter up the steps. When we checked in we were told the apartment we were given was the only one available - otherwise I would have preferred to have been in one that was accessible without steps or doors between it and the lift. The apartment was quite spacious and clean, and had everything we needed for our week. Again, overall a great location, and a well maintained and safe building. Very quiet too - I never heard any neighbors, although the trains do rumble a bit and can easily be heard, but that adds to the character of staying in an urban setting.
The apartments by self great. Good location - which probably most important. But smells in the corridors make you feel like you renting some very cheap hostel, not central apartments. No air conditioner.Rooms: 4/5
Stayed at Marlin’s Queen St Apartment for 3weeks and it was one of the best experience. Martina and Mohana are rockstars. Sean was helpful too. Thank you for making my stay wonderful! Apartment is spacious, neat, has everything you need for your minimal life. Location is perfect - uber, bus, tube is easily accessible. Sainsbury, M&S, Krystal open 24hrs few mins walk away. Mansion House and Cannon street station is just around the corner. Southwark bridge is a 3-5min walk. Miss listening the church bell and watching golden hour from the terrace at apt 82 When in London, I know where I am staying in future.
Clean and comfortable apartments with a fully equipped kitchen. Very good location. A perfect place for a family vacation.Rooms: 5/5
Very helpful and kind staff! The 1 bedroom apartment was very well equipped, with everything you might need including a fan and iron, for example. The room was very clean, which I think is very important when traveling. The location proved to be ideal for a city trip, with several underground stations on close walking distance. Also, there is a domino's pizza just outside of the apartment building. Great for late night snacks after a long day exploring londen
Location ok, service ok but the TRAIN passing under the building direcrly shook me awake the whole night and then again since the early hours....! Do not stay here if you want any amount of sleep. Poor insulation and gets crazy hot in the afternoon, bedroom extremely light since 5 am in the summer, no curtains, dated and tasteless interior with little functionality-kitchen very poorly equipped
The location is great for my needs. The hotel needs a refresh, beds and furniture have no support left, time to be replaced. Given the price per night is similar to other local hotels, one would expect better service, once every 8 days is not acceptable. There are several similar options in the area that I would recommend over The Marlin.
We spent a weekend Marlin Apartments - Queen Street St Paul's during march 2023. The place is really near "everything": the tube Mansion or Cannon, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern, Borough Market, HMS Belfast, Southwark Bridge, the Shard, Sky Garden, etc. So, for tourists, it's a very good solution. Finally, there are a lot of restaurants and some groceries Sainsbury's in the nearby. We were 4 people 2 adults and 2 children and we found the apartment comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had everything that we needed and was clean. The bathroom was big but without a bidè, as usual.... People at reception was nice. What else...? go and visit this place :-
There was a misunderstanding with our dates and Martina at the Front Desk was an absolute gem!!! She was so helpful and I can’t give her enough praise for her stellar customer service skills!Rooms: 4/5
