The location is quite good, close to the tube metro station which is for many lines. The apartment was rather clean except for one additional throw blanket that looked and smelled like it hasn't been washed for years. The size of the apartment was quite good. We could hear people buzzing other flats and calling elevator and walking in the corridor like there were no door and walls. The light from the street was very bright and directly to the windows, but blinder rolls were so thin we had lots of light inside at night. When we arrived the safebox was locked, we called to fix it so we could use it - no one ever came. The extractor in the kitchen wasn't working and the windows have been locked - so we couldn't open them. I called the "reception" and described the problem, they said they don't allow anyone to open the windows because they have air con in the building and they will send someone to fix the extractor. The next day housekeeping knocks on my door, without saying hi or her name she asks if we are cooking in the apartment yes, that is why we rented a place with the kitchen - to fry some eggs or warm up meals sometimes and she tells me in a rude manner that then I must open windows because it smells of food, I explain to her that this is a problem I addressed to their "reception" and they told me I am not allowed to open windows even if the extractor is not working, I thanked her that she unlocked the windows while she was cleaning once in 4 days and that now we will be able to open them. She continued repeating in a rude manner wording and tone of voice that we must open the windows. And then she said, "Don't forget to put the dishwasher, your check-out is tomorrow!". I had a feeling that I am talking to a bad stepmother from a fairytale, not a housekeeper of the apartments for which I paid 1400 pounds for a week! So they don't communicate between the "reception" which is not in that building and housekeeping even on basic points of opening windows - not the same rules and housekeeping is very rude.
The apartment is fantastic modern design, clean, well-equipped with excellent location except that in the last night there’s no hot water in the whole building and the service center said there’s nothing they can do. Luckily it was our last night staying there. Can’t imagine how many days it is going to take to fix the problem and we would have to endure cold shower for the rest of our stay.
I don't typically post reviews, but I just want to make sure that anyone who books this location understands. I'd say both the apartment and location are excellent! However, if you were to store luggage upon early arrival, I hope that Blueprint could indicate on the booking page that the location is 20 minutes away from where you are staying. Otherwise, you won't know until you arrive on Turnmill Street with all of your luggages and only then will someone decide to inform you that the storage is at a different location that is 20 minutes away by cab! We are foreigners who are unfamiliar with the area, so I did ask for assistance. The concierge was quite helpful in advising us to put our luggage in the common area of the little lobby if we are okay.I do appreciate her assistance, however the housekeeper gave us the long stare and is completely unwilling to assist! She insisted there was nowhere for us to store our luggage and that it would prevent her from cleaning. I'm forced to load all of my belongings onto the taxi and stow it in the other storage location. Please also let your guests know that your unusually early check-out time is 10 am. The same maid arrived, and of course you can see that she wasn't very courteous to inform us that the checkout was at 10am as at that time it was already 9am because it wasn't listed on the booking page.
Summary: too expensive. We will not repeat. best thing: location good things: good size rooms, kitchen with few basic items, sofa bad things: smoke extractor did not work, so room was smelling of cooking. the main door has very bad noise and smell isolation, so we listened from the bed what was going on outside. Owners do not want us to open windows apparently, so you tell me where the smoke must go. No breakfasts. towel drier did not work. And the cleaner was rude to my wife. Sofa not comfortable.
A/C was a bit loud and didn’t work the best, but everything was wonderful. Friendly staff and great location.Rooms: 4/5
Passable. No concierge service. No daily breakfast, but we did receive a stale croissant and tepid milk daily. Foreign housemaid with little or no English. Bedding change every 5 days. Shower had a drainage issue. The good part was the location, 100 metres from Farringdon Station. It was clean, spacious, modern and quiet. I would stay there again, but I would complain that the service is not what they publish on their website. Should they talk about the key to the apartment, it's a card.
The apartment itself is spacious, nice bathroom and comfortable bed and my room Apt8 was situated at the back of the block, so it was quiet. The standard of cleanliness wasn't up to scratch. The sofa appeared marked by lipstick and the bathroom walls dirty, what looked like hair dye in the bathroom. Generally the apartment felt like it needed a proper vacuum and wipe down. The reception team acknowledged the concerns but did nothing about it. Oddly there's not a rotation daily of towels and I was advised 'we only do that every 4 days' - strange?. The kitchen oven smelt funny like someone had used it and the team hadn't cleaned it sufficiently. The supply of daily croissants and milk is a cute touch but I'd rather a clean apartment. The floor was exceedingly warm, very poor ventilation and door buzzer didn't work. Wifi as other guests have indicated was rubbish. Frequent dropouts or a total absence of signal which is impractical for executive stays.
Their web site promised breakfast kits that never showed up. Lights were problematic in revealing how to turn on. Shower controls were stiff and towel drying rack would not turn on. Very clean. No views. No directions given or grounds offered for operating coffee machine.Rooms: 3/5
2 bedroom apartment in Doughty street. Milk & croissants every 2 days. Eggs & bacon waiting in fridge on arrival. Positives: very clean except for the lumps of chewing gum in the side table, nice linens, good size apartment in convenient location. Downsides: didn't meet at the arranged time to let us in, multiple phonecalls & finally arrived 35 minutes later. 4 flights of stairs with no lift so not for the weak of arm or faint of heart. Mattresses were on the firm side of comfortable. Advertisement gives impression that microwave and washing machine/dryer are in the apartment but is in fact a communal one in basement. Overall acceptable.
The room cleaning service is disgusting and they only made the room once out of 7 days. The isolation of the apartment is not good and air keeps flowing throw the windows cooling the apartment. The kitchen equipment need to be reviewed as the only frying pan and the boil pots are burnt and dirty, and the oven smells like pizza so they need to clean it better. Great location!
