Always a handy stop for any shopping trip - I absolutely love the Food Hall, which is a lot cheaper than you'd think! The store has a department for most things you'll need, and the staff are always helpful if you can't find what you want at first. This place can get really busy though, as there are often a lot of sales items - still well worth a visit though...

The staff work hard and well to please their customers but the stock in the store is always lacking in popular sizes consistently. We are informed we can order online but this is inconvenient when something is needed that day. Also when enquiring about certain products, one store has 96 in stock and another store has none. There should be a transfer of stock between stores when this stock situation develops, so as the customer doesn't have to travel out if their way for certain items or wait for it to be ordered online. This review is asking management to look at stock levels more in depth so that the customer can be accommodated on a more regular basis. I have made 5 visits recently to the Chester store and have only once been able to purchase the item I have wanted. On the other four occasions, I have had to order online or visit Cheshire Oaks (outside my area) to acquire them.

Called in the store today to pick up some lunch. My husband picked up a sandwich due to go out of date within the hour. He asked the lady if she was reducing this item. Very rudely she and when I'm ready turned her back and ignored us. We waited a few minutes not even any eye contact. Needless to say we put back the rest of our shopping and left. A little civility costs nothing. Very disappointed. Got the impression she thought reducing food was beneath her.

It's been some time since I last visited M&S....and in all honesty to will be a long time before I visit again....unfortunately I was given gift vouchers for Christmas. ..l can totally understand how there losing customers in there thousands! ...Overpriced to say the least....£35 to £40 for there own make jeans probably sums them up....they need to join the 21st century in my book!
