We arrived and we were sat next to a couple that had left over half a pizza. That pizza didn't look very nice so my partner and I went for the pasta. The service was slow and we had to wait over half an hour for two pasta dishes. My partner had pasta with meatballs that were quite dry in the inside, and without mozzarella (the menu said it had). I had pasta with rabbit without rabbit. It was very disappointing, I'm Spanish and we do eat a lot of rabbit in Spain and what I found in my pasta were very tiny pieces of pork sausage (rabbit meat and pork meat are completely different). Moreover the sauce tasted to burnt garlic. Definitely I won't come back. Dinner not worth the 32£ we paid.

We all love this place and go there whenever we're in Newcastle. But the last couple of times it's been horrendously noisy due to large celebratory parties, which makes a quiet family dinner very difficult. Perhaps I'm too old for rowdiness!

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our experience at Marco Polo. Three staff members stood around chatting, leaving us to wait 20 minutes before coming to take our order. Then the food that did come out was bland and mediocre at best, which is a shame because the price of the breadcrumb chicken I ordered would suggest it would be something special. On speaking to a few friends since, it seems to be a common feeling that there is a disconnect between what they think they're delivering and what the customers are experiencing. This was supported by the number of empty tables they have, when every other place we walked past was squeezing people in. Right now MP is inflated prices for below average food. I hope they get this right soon as the place has such potential.
