Possibly the best Indian food I've ever eaten in my life. The portions were good so be sure to have a good appetite going. It was welcoming and clean and warm. The service was great too, and the guys that worked there were really friendly and chatty. They told us the restaurant has been going since 1981. It's been newly refurbished and personally I really love the style of it.. Not to mention the beautiful paintings hanging on the walls that we were told came all the way from from Pakistan. There was good wheelchair access and an appropriate accessible toilet. It's also close to some decent pubs if you fancied some after dinner beverages. Definitely will come back next time we are in Newcastle.

I took my girlfriend to Simla. We got a really warm welcoming when we first arrived, the deco is beautiful inside and very cosy. The service from the staff are second to none, they are very polite and very friendly. The staff also made sure you didn't want for nothing. The food was absolutely beautiful and the meat just melted in your mouth, also really good value for money. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves a good Indians. Definitely going back again!

Quite possibly the best kept secret in Newcastle. Except it's always busy, so perhaps not so secret. Exceptional cuisine served by wonderful staff in a very cosy setting. Any number of superlatives aren't good enough to describe Simla. Can't recommend it highly enough.

One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The atmosphere was excellent, the owners and staff attentive but without being too fussy. When we arrived Simla was very busy and as we hadn't booked there wasn't a table available straight away. We were asked if we would like to come back in half an hour to which I'm so glad we said yes. The food was beautifully cooked and tasted so amazing. We left Simla full of great food and with a desire to return. The only problem we have is that it's 130 mile away from home.

Lovely. We went here after Christmas shopping. After we'd ordered we checked the train time to find the last one was cancelled. They were very accommodating and hurried our meals through. We had a lovely curry and made the train. We will be back to sample something different when we have more time.
