I went today with my son, who was still in his onesie, and has a having very high fevers and a cough. I hadn't had a chance to get the new registration forms to them due to illness but Julie and Kayley on reception rushed through the registration and got me a phone appointment today. Really helpful and friendly!
As many one star reviews describe, best avoid at all costs. Clinical staff have been historically good but this surgery is badly let down by it's reception and administrative team. Don't be gaslight by replies they've given to negative reviews, they don't respond to patient emails or messages. They don't care.
I don't usually post reviews but myself and my husband are very grateful to the reception team and Dr Brown for fitting our 9 month old son in at the end of a busy day for them! We were treated with compassion, respect and Dr Brown was very good with our little boy and was very helpful with his knowledge and advice!nnAfter we had been seen by Dr Brown the reception ladies asked us how it all went and took time out to speak to us and interact with our little one - this is something you wouldn't see everyday but such a special touch, especially when it was our first time taking our son to this surgery!nnThank you again n
I had an appointment with the nurse today Kimberly wishart as was feeling very unwell. I had excellent care from the nurse and was throughly checked over, i was listened too on how my symptoms were making me feel and advised on how to look after my symptoms at home . I received excellent support and general care.
Doctors I have seen so far are good. 9/10 times when speaking to receptionists they have no compassion or experience with talking to people with mental health issues. As they are working in an GP practice they should have more training when speaking to people with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, ptsd etc. Unfortunately I missed my appointment that I was waiting weeks for obviously not on purpose as I really needed the appointment but as my mental health is so bad can’t even get out of my bed or socialise with people. I am currently not on my medication for depression and anxiety, as was waiting for my appointment to change my dosage or prescription as it wasn’t working for me anymore. I have multiple anxiety/panic attacks daily. I spoke to a receptionist today to book another appointment for multiple reasons regarding physical and mental health issuesand explained I missed my appointment , she had then made me feel bad for missing appointment as she stated ‘someone else could of had that’ showed not an ounce of kindness and completely ignored the fact I had told her I couldn’t even make it out of my bed I had missed work but she could care less just repeated that my appointment could of gone to someone who needed it. I told her I am currently on no medication and the next appointment she had given was for a months time and I need to review my medication and change it.. was then told my only option was to just call at 8:30am and get a phone appointment. I explained to her I work mornings to which she then told me I’ll just have to wait for my appointment in a months time knowing I am on no medication and in desperate need for I understand completely my appointment could of gone to someone and explained if I wasn’t feeling suicidal and depressed I would of called but as my mental health is so bad my priority was keeping my sanity rather then calling the doctors to say I couldn’t make it , I couldn’t even call my work to say I couldn’t make it. This is more a lesson then a complaint. Please teach your receptionists that it doesn’t cost to be kind, some people aren’t mentally okay to be put down and made to feel the way I was. I am autistic , I have depression / anxiety and complex PTSD, luckily today my mum was with me today to help calm me down and stop me from panicking, if she wasn’t there I don’t know what I would have done . Not all , as I have spoken to some lovely receptionists in Manor Park, but most do not care what you are going through it’s clear they are just there to clock in and clock out. Working in a GP practice I personally would of thought they would be more kind and compassionate..she made it clear today that I am wrong about that. Please just take this in and be kind to patients you do not know what they are going through , if you don’t like your job then just don’t work there.nnIn reply to your comment I will not edit this review as it’s honest and your receptionist’ need to understand how they make some patients feel, as we are coming to our doctors for help not to be made to feel worse. She made it very clear she wasn’t trying to solve any of my issues. In reality I should have felt comfortable enough to speak and rebook my appointment without being made to feel guilty that someone else could have had the appointment.
