Magus are an outstanding firm. They are always focussed on us as the client and what our hopes, aspirations and plans are. I have dealt specifically with Zac Ghadially for about 10 years now and he is a really great guy and provides expert timely advice. In addition, I have met several of the team at Magus and they are all excellent and great people to deal with. I have referred Magus to a number of my company's clients and they have all found them to be excellent too. I cannot recommend them too highly.
I have a 30 year career in financial services including a short time as a financial advisor. For the main part I have supported large pension schemes which means my day to day job involves investing, asset allocation and markets. My wife Amanda is Operations Director at Magus and introduced me to Dante to discuss our financial plan. It surprised me that we didn’t talk much about investing. It was covered well and our financial position but the real value came from our planning for the future. We explored what is important to us children etc. and how we want to spend our future years. As a result we have agreed that we should start on that now, not wait for that mythical day when everything else is in place. The outcome is we have started to get involved in other things, take more short trips and have the long wanted historic MGB in the garage!

Regular financial ‘health checks’ help to give context to any suggested rebalancing of the portfolio, and life’s challenges have somehow seemed less daunting with Magus’ support. They have helped me to plot a course through changing circumstances such as bereavement, redundancy and offspring starting university, and I have total confidence that they will continue to have my best interests at heart and to offer sound, bespoke advice as and when required.
I have dealt with Simon Reynolds for many years. Magus Wealth has the support staff and systems to back up his highly professional and ever scrupulous financial advice. Routine stuff runs smoothly and imaginative planning ideas have been put into place using highly researched and respected investment managers. Complicated stuff made simple.
I had a Power of Attorney for an aged cousin who had been advised by Douglas Pritchard for a number of years when she was in better health. I was honestly at a complete loss how I would manage her investment portfolio to ensure there were sufficient funds to care for her comfortably in a care home with ever increasing costs. Douglas is one of the most highly professional advisers I could have wished for. His guidance, attention, explanation and oversight of her investments have enabled her life long savings to be managed through a tumultuous period in the markets. I have been able to be confident that Douglas listened to my wishes of not being a high risk investor for my cousin. He listened, advised, we discussed, I understood and the investments and advice have all led to very positive results. Words do not describe the comfort that his help has given me and ultimately her beneficiaries but I cannot recommend Douglas highly enough. A very very grateful customer who rarely provides any reviews unless service is over and above expectations. This is one of those occasions.
A chalk and cheese experience compared to previous financial advisers, who I've found to only ever be in 'product selling mode'. The Magus team do genuinely ask everything relevant about your life and what you want to achieve, then create a visual plan, year by year, of how your finances will pan out. This is the first time I've ever had a detailed understanding of how my disparate pensions, investments and policies etc tally up together, and its hugely helpful to know if it's enough to cover the life I want to lead. The investment structure that Magus recommended has simplified my finances and has also performed strongly over the past 5 years. I'm also very happy with the team who I've found to be professional, responsive and good listeners.
I have received financial advice and planning from Magus for the past 19 years and I have come a long way in that time. I knew little of financial planning at the outset but Mike Aitken helped me think about the future and to consider the financial position that I would like to be in at retirement. It was good to sit down with Mike and develop a financial planning strategy that suited my needs. Magus has done an excellent job for me over the years and I can honestly say that I am now in a stronger financial position today than I would have been without their advice. I can confidently recommend this company to anyone who wants to discuss personal financial planning.
