It's a big store with a large range but couldn't find much in the way of an order with how things have been laid out. For example the new releases and top charts didn't seem to be a thing? Just mixed in with all other films
Visited the new store today, looks amazing spacious has some pinball and such cool things especially for young and old collectors love the the whole vibe of the place. The only downside is going to be my bank balance the kids love it has all thier favorite things so will definately be a regular returning customer. Staff were super friendly and it has a lift so definitely wheelchair friendly glad to see it return in a big way to our town as it seemed wrong not to visit when it the old shop shut. Great job with the look The mystery boxes are a great touch
It's hard to see how HMV continues as a business to be honest. The Crawley store has far too empty floor space, and has most of its products rammed down the far end of the shop, and the side walls mainly filled with tacky items. Halloween has been and gone, but the shop is still dressed out for it, when it should be bringing in the Christmas trade. Sadly far gone are the days when HMV sold high end items, and prefer to buy in cheap toys and clothing that would appeal to a goth to fill out any other space. For its business model to work, it needs to be in a smaller floor spaced property, and concentrate on what it was known for, music and video and gaming. Sadly I did not get that vibe you used to get when finding a rare CD, or vinyl which is making a comeback from certain producers. For the size of the shop and the lack of customers on a Saturday, I cannot see this store lasting as it is. Perhaps they should take up one of the smaller empty units in the mall, as it has better footfall of customers.
If you are into the more niche of items such as anime, k-pop and D&D then this is the place to go. Great selection on the afor mentioned plus a decent selection of blu-ray, dvd, cd and vinyl etc. They have a few novelty items such as mugs and t-shirts some great mugs for work!! Staff, in my opinion are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of what they sell. HMV have started to branch out with games consoles, mainly the PS5 and have a small selection of game, but it is small. But for music etc there is always lots to choose from.
Variety films, music, sport, toys, and even books too.
Welcome back. A good selection of merchandise including gadgets, clothing, vinyl. I’m looking forward to the live music.
