Manchester Victoria is indeed a transport hub for trains. One can easily find information through the different displays and from the ticketing offices. The staff are always available to help and give directions. There is also a self service machine for personnel off duty periods. The environment, buses and trains are very neat and tidy. There are cafeterias for light meals, snacks, and coffee. A lovely place.
Good major transport interchange. Just a shame that the mainline platforms resemble more like Birmingham New Street or Cannon Street, in London.
A great station with a a wide range of access across the country. There are a good amount of facilities and the station is easy to get around.
Amazing old structure. Plenty of train departures every few minutes. Alot of new flat developments next to it going up as photo shows
I was very disappointed seeing this station. Looks nice outside on the picture but inside before entryway to the trains is ugly and dirty. It's built ages ago and never cleaned. Even Starbucks coffee put me off. No place to sit or eat like on Piccadilly station. Shame on Manchester city.
Linda who was very lovely when I bought a train ticket told me to head to platform 3. On platform 3 a and b, there is an arrow down to platform 3, to a track that does not exist. I asked for help at the ticket exchange. A lovely man said that my train had been and gone on time from platform 4, but there would be another one. There was, but it was on platform 6! I used to live here and I have a good understanding of numbers and letters and signs, when they are correct. I can only imagine how confusing this station is for foreign travellers, who may not be used to accidental misdirection. I am finally on the train to Leeds. Then Keighley. £29.80. Thank you for the free Wi-Fi, friendly staff and beautiful old building. I wondered why I was the ooonly person standing on that lonely platform.
Helpful staff. Needs some renovation especially toilet facilities. Also a pret or similar would be beneficial addition. Phone charging area not clean. Often too much rubbish strewn about after 6pm.
A railway station. It's a pity that the Marks & Spencer has shut, but there is a Co-Op that is very close. Better than Oxford Rd, worse than Picadilly.
This is one of two large stations in Manchester , it is an old building that has been modernised and the place looks great , it is very well lite and open planned making it easy to get about. Easy access to all platforms and plenty of friendly staff to help out if needed. Here is a good choice of outlets within the station and the coffee I had was nice.
It’s a train station so your experience is probably going to vary based on whether the train was on time etc. But as a station it’s a great little place. The decor and look and feel are evocative of the times when rail travel was still had the possibility of some romance. The only problem with the station is that it’s a little awkward to get to by car if you are picking up or dropping off. But I find it an easy and interesting walk.
