I have rented with MRAH for 3 years and they’ve been amazing. John, Chris, Danielle and Vanessa along with the rest of the team have always been so professional and caring to us. Any problem we had was fixed almost immediately. We received a new boiler and oven within the week of the old ones breaking. I cannot thank them enough for facilitating student housing for myself and my friends and the Christmas gift 2 years ago was a real reflection of their consideration for their tenants!
I’ve been renting with Manchester Rent a Home for a year. They do have a good number of properties to choose from, and the kitchen and bathroom areas are newly refurbished and all modern. When we had a problem with washing machine broke down, Danielle from the office got us replacement same day, so that was really quick and no hassle for us. Overall good experience, and we are now moving to another of their homes- a bigger one - they do have lots of properties to choose from. Re repairs - they do send the maintenance quick, good speedy responses to emails. Defo recommend them to any students looking for accommodation after first year!!
Good overall experience, the staff in the office quick and responsive, we got on very well with Danielle, she sends the maintenance guys promptly. They do have loads of homes, all modern and freshly refurbished kitchens and bathrooms, we even had lights with movement sensors in our new kitchen:0 Great memories !
To add to the slew of negative reviews about her already- Vanessa was an extremely rude and unprofessional woman to deal with. Argumentative and patronising. To add to this review- when I moved into my house, there were rodents already living in the walls. Rent-A-Home knew of their existence but neglected to inform anyone. They 'attempted' to removed the rodents but failed. Upon negotiating with Vanessa- she tried to gaslight me into thinking there was one mouse in the walls. Upon the arrival of an actual professional rodent catcher, he informed me that there was no such thing as 'one mouse' living in the walls, and he insisted that there would have always been a slew of them there- as I believed. Vanessa was ill-informed on the situation of this rodent problem, and she handled it very poorly. Rent-A-Home can ring me as much as they want to try to persuade me to remove my review but it is not going to happen. The proof is in the pudding . Vanessa has multiple negative reviews in regards to her behaviour. She is a loose cannon when it comes to customer service and it needs to be addressed within the agency.
Overall really good experience so far with Manchester rent a home, recently put a deposit down, super easy and good communication with the company. We’ve been speaking to Chris who’s really lovely and helpful in making sure we have the right house for us. Not to mention the houses are beautiful, super spacious and well kept.
I’ve been renting with Manchester Rent a Home for a year. I’d like to thank everyone for the wonderful and considerate experience. Everyone at the office is always willing to help with any maintenance issues and I’ve found the team very helpful at all times! My flat was modern, airy and maintained to a high standard. Thanks to everyone at Manchester Rent a Home, especially Danielle and Vanessa! Would recommend to any students looking for accommodation after first year!!
The entire team were very professional and helpful at all times and the properties were modern and well looked after. I rented with Manchester Rent a Home for two years whilst studying and any issues were always resolved quickly. When I started my tenancy with the company it was my first time to rent a property but the staff explained the process thoroughly so that I understood everything before any papers were signed. I could not recommend this company highly enough to rent with. I would like to thank Chris and the other staff members for providing such lovely properties and making the renting process stress free.
I rented with MRAH for 4 years and can genuinely say it was overall a positive experience. Any problems maintenance were sent usually the next day to assess/fix. Rooms and overall house decorated to a high standard. Communication between staff and tenants are always clear and responsive. Would rent with them again in the future!
I would like to warn everyone that a large portion of the reviews of Manchester rent a home could be fake or have been encouraged by the company. A striking number of them mention staff by name, in my time renting with them I can't remember any interaction with one staff member mentioned in other people's reviews and can only remember negative interactions with the other person mentioned in reviews. We rented a property for 1 year from the company, it was a very nice house and a good place to live. Unfortunately, when we moved in, all of the carpets required cleaning at our cost the cupboards were filthy, the showers were dirty and one of the rooms top floor on the right when you face the building of 99 Wilbraham rd was covered in mould. There was also a blind missing in one of the downstairs bedrooms when we moved in, I complained about this but over the course of the year, even after photographic evidence sent, nothing happened. Manchester rent a home was helpful enough to paint over our mold with wet emulsion paint... Possibly the least effective way to deal with mold I could think of. During our tenancy, they sent "reminders" regarding their fair use policy on gas and electricity. I politely reminded them that our house had a cracked window and therefore lost heat very quickly. The response I received showed that their team clearly did not understand how double glazing works as they claimed that because the window was cracked and not smashed there should be no problem. We later found out that we were not close to exceeding the fair use policy, those emails were sent to everyone, presumably to buffer their profit margins. When it came time to move out, we cleaned our rooms, did the bins and left on time. We were each charged over £70 each from our deposits. Some of this change was fair, we were students and to be fair we did forget to clean the oven. However they cited dirty carpets the carpets were filthy when we moved in they complained that the sink was dirty the resin on the sink was left there by their workmen when they fixed a leak. When I asked for evidence of the dirty carpets I was sent pictures of the clean carpets we had left, including lines from the vacuum cleaner as it had pushed the fibres. Moreover their complaints focused on only 2 rooms and despite this they charged us for a full house cleaning. One staff member, whose name I have now removed, was especially difficult to work with, slow to respond to emails about our deposit, I assume because they wanted to wait us out until the next academic year when we would have to give up on getting our deposit back. She refused to believe anything we said about carpet cleaning and called us liars while also complaining that we called her a liar it really did feel like the sort of argument you had on a primary school playground. On another small note. They told us not to lock our side gate because the gardener did not have a key. This very led to us nearly being broken into as three men walked into our back garden, we were lucky that people were home. Overall I would strongly recommend students not to rent with Manchester rent a home. They will take an unreasonable amount from your deposit and they are not helpful in responding to your requests. If you've made it this far through this essay of a review well done! But I'm sure you're wondering why you should believe me and not the many many 5* reviews this company has been given. To this, I actively encourage you to look at the posters of these reviews. For so many of them it is the only review they have posted, especially the ones which mention staff by name. Then talk to people you know, how many of them love their landlords so much that they have posted positive reviews of them online, going as far as to name staff of the letting agent in their reviews. When you've done that, take a look at my other reviews, I'm pretty nice most of the time! I write a lot of reviews just for fun, this one however is here to protect you and your money. TLDR: do not rent from this despicable company!
I have been a tenant for almost 8 years and have had a brilliant experience throughout. I have been met with understanding, fairness and transparency throughout my tenancy and on the rare occasion something needs doing/fixing it is done the same day. I can not recommend more. Thank you for all your years of amazing service, it is very much appreciated.
