The food here is packed with flavours, I especially loved the curry puffs they were sensational! Beautiful crispy flaky pastry with curry flavor root veg absolutely, delicious. I also ordered the crispy squid and chicken Roti canai. Great portion size lovely flavours my only complaint was I would have preferred the roti to be cooked to order as it was on the dry side when premade. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are craving Malaysian cuisine
Service: Top notch by all staff, very accommodating Interior: Toilets and restaurant was clean. Rustic vibe Food: very pleasantly surprised. Some of the items didnt look amazing but they more than made up in flavour. Best Malaysian food I’ve tried and will definitely be returning with others. Everything Halal Glad we asked for extra spicy, made the difference. Tried all 7 dishes in the video and all amazingly authentic. 9/10. Cons: menus were really old and folded. Surely not too hard to print new ones.
Great Malaysian dining experience. Good sized portion. They cured my asam laksa fix. The beef noodles were generous. Roti canai set was delicious too. Very nice environment and friendly service.Food: 5/5
Went there to try Malaysian food. Restaurant was busy when I went. Service was good. Menu is very clear and detailed. All halal. Food was very good. Decent pricing.
We were just passing by and stopped when we saw “Asian street food” sign on the window, and amazed by the taste, good service as well. Bill comes with + 10% service charge.Food: 5/5
I love this place. Looks like it might be small from the front but it actually goes a long way to the back with some booths and large tables available as well. The vibe is very casual and nothing fancy at all. Wrinkly menus etc. But the service is fantastic - everyone is so friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. I am now happy to be recommended anything from the menu now if I can't decide for myself and trust it will be great.
We started off with the deep fried baby squid starter which was delicious, and the squeeze of lime cut through the batter so nicely. We also ordered the mango salad which was very refreshing and tasty - reminded us of the Som Tum Thai salad which is a favourite. For mains we ordered the chicken Mee Goreng Mamak, a well known Malaysian dish, the chicken fried udon with sambal sauce and the pineapple fried rice. The pineapple fried rice was the most delicious out of the 3. It was very flavourful, contained char grilled pineapple and was served in an actual pineapple! Very fun but also yummy. The udon with sambal sauce was quite delicious, good amount of sauce & very filling. The mee goreng mamak was the most disappointing for me as the chicken itself had no flavour or seasoning. The noodles were nice but not enough to give the whole dish flavour. We also got Bandung which is the pink drink that contains evaporated milk and rose syrup. Delicious drink that doesn’t really taste floral, but has the right amount of sweetness and is refreshing. Overall, I’d definitely come back but I’d order different mains - I think the rice dishes seem to be nicer than the noodle dishes!
Nothing can beat the award winning, recognition restaurant, London Asian Food Award to Mamak Don ,Camden. My husband & I decided to have a quiet, relaxing lunch at Mamak Don on 20/5/2024 - Monday. Thank to the chef for showing me the fresh, live crab which I was craving for Chilli Crab. We ordered our favourite food, Chicken Curry, Cantonese Hor Fun/ Wat Tan Hor and other. The food was superb and delicious. The services will excellent. Highly recommended
Delicious food with plenty of awful mistakes in the service. I'm not overly familiar with Malaysian food, but my partner introduced me to this restaurant as she had studied for a year in Malaysia. The food here is like heaven, I was throughly impressed with the food. They served chunks of plastic in our Dahl see picture attached, serving us a meat platter instead of a vegetarian platter, charging us for food they didn't serve us because they told us ot was out of stock, and giving us the wrong drink. This is an utterly awful service for staff who were otherwise pleasant. They didn't charge for the dhal and the other food item that didn't come, but it was still hard to stomach. I'm curious to try ordering deliveroo here. It might offer more security for these errors, but I don't know.
Food was amazing! Everything tasted super authentic, service was quick and we were also able to takeaway our leftovers. Would definitely recommend!Food: 5/5
