Food was tasty with the fried chicken being the highlight, very tender and juicy. Starter salads were nice as was the Laksa, which maybe could have had a bit more meat & noodles in it.
Average laksa at best. We got it takeaway from Sambal Shiok and maybe that was why but all we tasted was spice and the noodles were very soggy tasted like soggy spaghetti/ angel hair pasta it was the usual egg noodles + vermicelli noodles like the other laksas I've had. Definitely had better laksas in London.
Sambal Shiok is one of my favourite restaurants in London. Incredible food and great value. The sister restaurant nextdoor which serves rice boxes is also fantastic. Couldn't recommend more.
It was pretty decent, especially the signature laksa. It was clear that the recipe had a personal twist too it but some things lacked authenticity e.g. the peanut sauce was underwhelming. Good to try but not sure we would be rushing back!
I have to say, this place is not very good value for money. The poached chicken in my chicken laksa seems a little uncooked so I was sick on the following day. After a long waiting, got a soup don’t have real depth and the flavours don’t get together with the noodle, only can taste the hot from the chilli flakes. Real disappointed.
