Wouldn't recommend getting a car from Arnold Clark South Street. After buying a car in November it took them 4 months to get my car looked at in-between 'forgetting' to put me in their diary for the servicing department. This left me with no alternative than to drive a car with ropey brakes until they could take it in and not provide any courtesy vehicle for the 2 weeks they had it despite me specifically making a booking further into the future as I made it clear I would need alternative transport whilst my car was with them. Here's what Arnold Clark also believes to be an acceptable wheel refurb on a car that's a few years old. According to them failing to prepare the surface properly and getting dust stuck under the paint of a full set of alloys is acceptable for the age and mileage of the car. I raised my concerns with AC but they no longer want to deal with their poor workmanship so I think I should show as many people as I can what a great job they've done before I get them refurbished elsewhere properly. It's not worth the headache of dealing with Arnold Clark, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere! They couldn't give a toss about providing a decent service to the customer
Today I was there with my mum to get her a new car, and everything was running so smoothly, we got taken care of by an amazing worker Neil that welcomed us with a smile and made sure that we’re having beautiful experience and we get the answers to every question we ask. Honestly I don’t know how much you are paying him but he definitely deserves a raise!! I’ll be back to get my own car soon!
5th time buying with Arnold Clark. Took a little longer than anticipated to get the car ready for me to collect because I’d identified a few issues that needed sorting but they happily took onboard what I’d said and prepared the car to a high standard. Robert, my sails rep, kept me in the loop with regular updates about when it’d be ready and even gave me a follow up call to make sure everything was going smoothly. Top notch bloke delivering a top notch customer experience!
Mate's car took 4 months to get repaired after breakdown. Would have been not so bad if the reception desk had been honest about the timescale and this given the opportunity to go somewhere else -initial timescale was given of one month. On the plus side the mechanics are solid and the repair seems good.
Best to be avoided, must be one of the worst experiences I've had with a car dealership and I've had a lot of cars. The latest issue is about a service I had done on my MX-5 about 2 months ago, I was charged for brake fluids although that was already included in the service price. I am struggling to get a refund back, I must have phoned more than 10 times, always being told that they will issue the refund again and that it should arrive in 3-5 days. Lat time I called was exactly 2 weeks ago. The refund would be in my bank in 3-5 days. And guess what...nothing yet. Mazdas ,are fantastic cars, but service is terrible. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. If they struggle to settle such an easy matter, I don't want to know what happens with more complex ones. Very poor
Bought a 21 plate Mazda from another branch. I couldn’t get my car to accept phone calls although correctly paired together. I visited two nearer branches who were both unable to solve the problem. When I visited the South Street branch, I was introduced to Holly who went to great lengths to finally solve the problem. It was actually a setting on my phone. I would like to thank Holly for all her care and attention to detail and wish her best wishes in future
I needed brakepads, and supplied the registration of my ford car to enable them to identify and supply the correct pads from their parts database. Yet Arnold Clark still managed to supply me with the wrong pads. Resulting in my car not being repaired on time by my garage. Arnold Clark, should be known as Arnold Can't I will certainly be Avoiding Arnold to ensure no more motoring disappointments. My experience was dreadful !!!
I had a disappointing experience today whilst calling Arnold Clark south street. I called to cancel a ford recall and a malfunctioned info screen, as my brothers funeral sadly falls on the same date as my appointment.The attitude from the service receptionist and the work shop controller falls short of what I have enjoyed over the years of buying cars from Arnold Clarks, no courtesy or help offered just rudeness and totally dismissive of my situation. Thanks Arnold Clark for making a difficult time even more difficult and stressful.
Only good thing is the quick turnaround on the MOT. Staff were very short, and uninterested. When I got the call for my failed MOT + the repairs quote it took some digging to discover some other failed items that the staff member on the phone had missed. Quote for repairs was wildly expensive. Not returning, and would recommend going to a smaller garage that cares.
Great service from Ben and the team at South Street. Exceptional customer service. Ben is an asset to Arnold Clark. Having work in retail for years, I know a great service when I receive one and the service I received was exceptional. Thank you for the great experience.
