Great shopping experience as always.
I like it here. It’s pleasant to shop here, to walk around and interact with staff.nIt’s now cheaper than the local Sainsburys and the produce is fresher and of better quality.nnThe newer self-scan tills are better, and thank god they’ve installed a click and collect self-service machine! I was getting fed up of waiting ages for someone every time I wanted to return an item of clothing. However, when I took the trouble to ask the staff how their day was and how busy they seemed, the gentleman told me that there are sometimes only three sales people on the shop floor on a shift, and they simply don’t have the bodies to man the click and collect till all the time , especially if someone is off sick.nnRegarding the staff- sometimes one or two have been curt in the past, but I’ve always encountered politeness and professionalism. They do often look tired or overstretched. I’ve witnessed some customers on the other hand behaving so rudely and impatiently with them. These customers have obviously never done a job that involves interaction with the general public. It’s hard work! It costs nothing to ask for something politely and say thank you…
This is definitely the worst M&S shop I have ever had the misfortune to visit. Why is this shop always out of stock of the items I want to buy? Either the manager is extremely incompetent, or they must do it on purpose. These are the only possible explanations. I suspect that they purposely don’t stock the more budget range of items because obviously they make less profit on those.nAlso it appears that they have a policy at this branch of only employing rude, ignorant, imbeciles, or at least a policy of training staff to be as rude, ineffective and acting as stupid as possible. I always leave feeling that I have just had an unnecessarily bad experience, when I’m sure that the company board would want the opposite. Of course the problem is that they sell good products, but their attitude towards people is sadly lacking. It doesn’t make any sense because a happy customer is surely a customer who will spend more and make regular return visits. I actually dread going to this place because I know it’s going to be a bad experience.
I’ve rarely given a 1-star rating there are severe attitudes from a few of the staff of the small ‘team’ at this Southfields branch. They’ve earned the low rating.nn+ Particularly shameful staff member called Angela, and I know this because she was so rude that I had to bravely ask for her name.nn+ Bakery easily has no bread due to staff not showing up.nn+ M&S has nice tasting bread but original staff - particularly one lady there who normally doesn't show up is scary to engage with.nn+ Self-service tills staff are miserable, and abruptnn+ Lack of name badges makes it hard to highlight the poorly behaved people from the odd nice team members.nnThis branch could benefit from a performance appraisal review to stop the rudeness to us unsuspecting customers entering the store.
