Fantastic store, sporting a mind boggling selection of, everything basically. Been Sunday food shopping here for years , and was delighted when it expanded into the defunct ARGOS next door. Apparently now the second largest in Scotland after Falkirk. Also friendly helpful staff who seem to be pleased to be there, overseen by Manager Mike!
Moderately sized unit with a small bakery, florist and stationary selection. Freezer section is tiny and pointless but it has a good range of wines, spirits and beers some pre chilled. Click and collect point located at rear of store and everything is on ground level with good access for those less able. Almost always has a couple of real humans on tills too which these days is a bonus
The old woman with glasses is pathetic, just avoid going around her and if you need help at this store, never ask her or if you ring the bell and she comes, try to escape because she is not there for help, she is there to bully and mistreat you. I picked 3 items for £8 and the machine didn’t recognise the items while on the shelf says 3 for 8 pounds. I asked for help and she came with a pathetic face and was keep saying NO NO NO, hang on hang on hang on, while I was waiting at the machine and then a lady came and fixed the issues with the items as I was right. Honestly, woman at this age with this attitude, shouldn’t be working, they need help and care rather than job.
Bought some reduced fishcakes yesterday, took home to cook, only to find they had gone out of date the day before. Would someone with sight difficulties have known this? M&S pride themselves on quality food, but this happens regularly. This store rarely have what I'm looking for, and what they do have is overpriced.
I just had a very unpleasant shopping experience, I was using the self-checkout, and a very sad and annoying old lady came up and said that I had bought too many things to use the self-checkout and had to go to the manual checkout, I had never encountered this problem before in any supermarket, it was very rude, and when I scanned the last item, She immediately came and took the cart away and I said to her that I needed the cart for my stuff, I needed to push my stuff to the door and slowly collect it, and she kept telling me that I couldn't use the cart, very rude and for no reason, and she said that I couldn't push the cart out, even though I had no intention of doing that, I just wanted someone else to use the self-checkout machine as soon as possible. This is a very sad old lady, unfortunately, I saw a lot of complaints in the comments section about this old lady, short, blonde hair, with a rope around her neck, her presence is damaging the reputation of the store, I very much hope that the store can stop employing this employee, because from the comments section, she has made many customers have a bad shopping experience, If I experience something like this the next time I come to the store, I will make a formal complaint against the employee and the store!
