They have a new parking system where you have to scan your receipt on a screen in store which barely works in order to park in the carpark for free. If you missed scanning your receipt then you'll get slapped with a £90 fine. All the staff and customers in the store seemed to be very annoyed with this new system.nnWhoever implemented this needs to be shot from a cannon into the sun.nnThe pretzels are still good though
Usually, when you close a large scale supermarket, it's a good idea to put A. A warning B. An information notice on your website C. To inform google D. To tell people why, and what work you are doingnE. To tell them when the work will be complete.nnI have no idea how incompetent you have to be to close a supermarket for what appears at least medium term and not even put a notice on the store finder section of your own website - total and utter incompetence.
Your average grocery store, relatively large. Can find most of what you need there. Easy enough to find parking on a weekday late evening.
July 2024: The Lidl entrance and car park have shifted to face Finnieston St previously facing Minerva St. Developers plan on building new flats, in the old car park there. What's terrible about this move is that pedestrian access from Argyle St and Finnieston St where probably 80% of pedestrians come-in from is still so bad, and is compelling pedestrians to walk-in behind a line of parked cars unless they counter-intuitively go out of their way to find the zebra crossing. Doing this means crossing the wide entrance / exit for cars first. Because cars always come first.
The supermarket parking area is huge. There are many kinds of goods inside, and you can use the cart to place the purchased goods, and the price is cheap. Self-checkout is available and staffed checkout counters are available.
