Shocking on all levels tonight. Booked taxis a week in advance. Got a text at collection time.."We know you are waiting and we appreciate your patience. We are working hard to assign you a driver. Thank you for your custom. Lynx Taxis" I called them and was advised about 10 minutes. Then 20 minutes later I got the same text as above Thought the whole idea of pre booking was you had priority booking. We had a booking and they were going to turn up too late to get us there so cancelled on a phone call. To then have them call 30 minutes later saying did we still need the taxi!!??!! I drove myself in the end. Shocking service.... and for the 3rd time it didn't go right. I won't be using ever again. Have to say that the lady I spoke too came in on her shift to find out despite calling in to cancel our booking it was showing still live and understand it wasn't her fault . Communication should be much better in the office ...
Excellent. Car was booked in advance with no hassle and arrived a few minutes early at the appointment time. Car was clean, well maintained, driver was professional and got me to the destination in short order. Reasonable prices too. Would use again.
Quoted £5.00. Charged £7:70. Driver had no real idea of destination and as I had never been we got within a couple minutes walk of where I needed to be. Accurate pricing would be good. I was also left standing around in the rain waiting for return driver as he seemed unsure of actual pick up point. Maybe add a noted section on booking app for specific pick up or drop off point information
Booked a taxi through there app from Birch vale to disley. App said would be about 15 minutes, I understand it may take a bit longer to get a driver, However kept getting a message to say 'we know you are waiting for a taxi, please bare with us whilst we assign you a driver'. Off 3 different numbers I may add. Only to be sat here waiting for 1 hour with no extra communication to then get a message to say that they had cancelled my journey without any prior notification. I would accept if they had rung up after 30 minutes and said we can't get a driver, however 1 hour and to just cancel via a text message I find disrespectful and very unprofessional. A service I was going to start using again quite regular, however i will now never be using lynx taxis again after they have ruined my night!!!!!
Had some really good experiences 6 so far - hence the 2 stars, unfortunately just had an absolute terrible one. After making a mistake on the online booking we rang up the operator who was really helpful, shortly after the call a driver “arrived” outside - we were very happy, the driver rang to say he was outside, we walked outside, he wasn’t there, he was down the road, only for him drive passed us being extremely rude to us, people make mistakes with bookings, he made a mistake with the address - there is no reason to be rude, we had a 5 year old with us who wanted to go to bed at 10pm instead was in the rain as the driver drove off being rude to us. Thank-you Uber for saving the day and being cheaper than the original booking…
Very Fast transport profession. Call if you are ready and not when you ain’t ready to jump in. They pretty prompt. One advice is to educate their drivers on hygiene as inside some taxi carry foul smell and can feel like throwing up. A little inspection or education can help solve this issue. All aside they are very quick and ready to dispatch you a ride.
I ordered a taxi for my 88 years old mum to go a short journey from her home to the hairdresser's. The messages prior to collecting get were prompt, she was collected on time and the driver was very polite and helpful. She is not too keen on getting taxis but this experience was a very positive one. Thanks and we'll use lynx again.
I've give 3 stars not 1 as I've previously found Lynx to be a reliable company. However, this morning my taxi failed to arrive. It was booked more than 24 hours in advance. I called Lynx and was told it would be dispatched soon and there in 3.5 minutes, however, the map showed all available cars were much further away from my house. The operator also said they'd 'hopefully' get me to the station on time for my train. After a further 5 minutes I had to cancel my taxi and pay to park my car overnight at the station. Rubbish. ***In response to the question below - show up?
Absolutely shocking service. The taxi went to the wrong place twice. The wrong end of a one way street. We saw the silver hatchback Mercedes twice. We called to give him directions and he lied about being there. When he came he was ranting. I asked him to forget it and just drive. He drove like a madman and when we got to the destination the fare was 4.40 pounds. I gave him 5 pounds and said keep the change. I got out of the car he threw the change through the window using very abusive language I can't repeat here, threatened me and drove off. Abusive crazy and dangerous
