Lynton Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Story

Enjoy glorious sunsets from your pitch at this Devonshire hilltop campsite.

Lynton Club campsite sits above the stunning Exmoor coast and is a stone’s throw from the genteel Victorian seaside resort of Lynton. This peaceful and secluded campsite is a rural heaven with beautiful views extending over the surrounding countryside and for some, panoramic views across to Wales.

The area around the campsite is a walker’s paradise, with many walks to be enjoyed direct from site. At Lynton and Lynmouth the South West Coast Path, Two Moors Way, Tarka Trail and Samaritans Way SW meet up providing many more walking opportunities including exploring the Exmoor National Park.

For days out don’t miss Watersmeet, one of Britain’s deepest river gorges. Enjoy a woodland walk and take refreshment at the National Watersmeet House. Glen Lyn Gorge south of Lynton offers a mix of waterfalls and pools plus a water power exhibition. Animal attractions include Exmoor Zoo, Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park or take a boat from Lynmouth Harbour and get close to nesting birds on England’s highest cliffs.

This site is situated in a lovely spot with views to the sea. Tons of walks direct from the site and close to hand. Loads to do in the area, especially if you have transport… but you will struggle if on a non electric bike because of some of the hills!nnWhile the facilities need updating, they are very clean and serviceable.nnThe managers were really welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the area with loads of good tips. They kept the site really clean and organised. Top marks! The assistant wardens were also lovely and they all worked together to really enhance our stay.nnThis is a typical smallish club site. It feels like it has been here for many decades and has settled into its landscape. We prefer our sites to be more real and quirky than super modern and regimented. This lovely site is certainly one of our favourites. Thank you for a lovely stay
We had a wonderful two night stay here, the staff are lovely and really helpful, the site is immaculate and the views stupendous! Nice bonus was a pizza horse box on Friday night! Half hour walk into Lynton and about the same down to the Valley of the Rocks. Would totally recommend this place. Shower block was very efficient and clean and washing up facilities good. The only down side was that on the second night a caravan parked slap bang in front of our view despite there being loads of room to park parallel with the hedge as most people had done, especially with a long caravan... the owner was just totally oblivious! Slight issue maybe for children - the site only accepts contactless payments in the little shop - so hard to buy sweeties!! Great place and we will definitely be back. Thank you team Lynton!
Lovely clean camp site, welcoming staff. Facilities dated but very clean.nBeautiful views of countryside and the sea
Fantastic walks around site including coastal path. All within circular walking distance 5/6 miles. A brilliant, quiet and tidy site. Excellent hourly peak times half- hourly bus service, to all adjoining villages and towns. Exmoor open-topped bus £2 to see some amazing scenery and places you really would not want to drive to yourself. Well run club site with very helpful staff.
What a beautiful site, good clean facilities, great views to the sea and the countryside. Within walking distance to Lynton if you don't mind very steep hills. Bus stop is a 5-10 minute walk away. Good WiFi everywhere on site.
