This place was recommended but sadly didn't meet expectations. Ordered a focaccia to start, but was given a flat pizza dough base which was definitely not focaccia. Main courses were ok, and they managed to find me a very pleasant lemon and ginger tea to drink so that was definitely a plus.nnGo here, expect an adequate meal and you won't be disappointed.
Lucano is located in Victoria Street, the main area that cruise ship passengers visit. The food was very nice, atmosphere good, staff friendly and helpful. Recommend this place.
A wee visit to this little Italian gem in Kirkwall, on entering we were welcomed and immediately shown to our table. Although busy, the service was amazing, as was the pasta & pizza delicious . The cheese was to absolutely die for and as big a portion I've ever been given in any other restaurant . 10/10 to all the staff who worked as a well oiled team. Including Aryun.
We arrived after 8pm with no booking and received a warm welcome.nnThe restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and was tastefully decorated.nnThe service was great and the food brilliant and very authentic.nnAll in all a lovely meal.
A highly recommended restaurant I went to in Kirkwall on a recent rushed visit. Was lucky enough to get a walk-in as it was busy, a five minute wait which was surprising as I thought the wait would've been a bit longer.nnAs can be seen in the photos, the interior was nice, bright and fresh, very inviting, and they also feature a large map of the motherland on one of their walls. The food was nice, spicy and not too hot.nnHope to be back on a less rushed visit in the near future
