Dropped in hoping to buy fresh fish and were amazed at the range of not only fresh fish including great naturally smoked haddock and huge scallops but also smoked and frozen fish. This included cod, hake, red mullet and many others. Plus loads of other Orkney products including cheeses and butter. They also sell frozen ready made meals, filled lunch rolls and delicious-smelling hot breakfast options plus hot soup. Very nice staff too. My only regret is not coming here on day 1 of our trip.
The only disappointment was that I couldn't give it 10 stars out of 5. Excellent produce, friendly staff, all very helpful, both in-person and over the phone, and the service was superb. Along with all the other local goodies I bought to bring home, I gave them two large brown trout which they filleted, smoked and vaccum packed for me for £3 quid each! An absolute bargain! A treat of a shop.nnNote, this is NOT a tourist outlet, it's a bit out of the way, so don't expect anything other than a local shop selling excellent local produce.nnCannot recommend highly enough especially to anglers.
A truly disappointing experience, marred entirely by the appalling attitude of the staff. Despite spending over £100 on products which, to be fair, were a bit of a disappointment, we were made to feel thoroughly unwelcome from the outset. The manner was sharp, aggressive and, at times, downright rude — hardly what one expects when visiting a shop so clearly aimed at tourists.nnInstead of enjoying what should have been a pleasant visit, we left feeling like an inconvenience rather than customers. A real shame.
Best fish and seafood in Orkney!! The deli Shop is amazing. You need to stop here for deliciousness! Thanks for showing us the factory, guys!
Ordered some cheese last minute as a gift, emailed to enquire about how long it would take and they sent my order that day and it arrived the following day! Really amazing customer service and of course delicious cheese. Thank you guys
