Was really pleased, and surprised, to lead a civil partnership here recently I'd mistakenly assumed as it's above the register office that only registrars would lead ceremonies there, not celebrants. The ballroom is a lovely spacious setting with a gorgeous ceiling and original features. Staff were happy to understand and accommodate ceremony arrangements. Taken a star off as the heat is uncomfortable when the room is full, and it needs some ventilation - guests had to keep popping outside to cool down.
Went to New Year’s Eve Beatles tribute paid for VIP but all we got was a red armband, no waitress service nowhere to put drinks, contacted and was told no refund. So be carefull booking VIP as it doesn’t deliver. The event otherwise was good. Don’t like the attitude of hard luck your not getting a refund of the vip element even though we didn’t deliver
Good to see more bands booking this venue but when you get a near full house, the bar seriously can't cope. Our friends popped into town during interval to another bar!! Lad next to me was 50 minutes at bar. Not sure what you can do but do something.
