Visited when the hall was open to the public. The staff were super friendly and they even had the Time Trap museum on site. Walking around the town hall was good with so many rooms to see and on our visit there was a room full of images and information about the history of Grimsby, I learnt a lot about the local area. Hopefully you open again to the public soon with some more information about the history of Grimsby.
What an amazing hidden gem. Set in the town hall, this museum takes you through all the aspects of life in Grimsby over the generations. With lots to read, interactive displays. Over two floors, some tricky steps and low lighting in places so be careful. Sounds and sights of life in the docks. Fun question sheet to fill in as you walk around. Glance at photos of the previous Mayor's as you leave anf check out the silver cabinet.
A very interesting place. Very well kept, also the huge top room can be hired out for functions
Brilliant, efficient staff with a warm greeting to this iconic building. At the heart of the town centre, with the Time Trap museum of heritage artefacts, the fabulous Council Chamber with wood panelling and stained glass, beautiful marble staircase and so many items of history around, this is a place of real interest and highly recommended.
A nice enough building but is at present functional rather than decorative. It needs a good makeover and refurbishment but sadly that costs money.
