Fantastic Experience

As much as I love cars I generally hate the process of buying them, having to deal with pushy sales guys focused only on achieving their target with scant regard to customer satisfaction.

This was absolutely not the case with Lookers Manchester, we browsed the showroom aware that the sales team were monitoring us but never once did we feel under pressure to engage in a sales conversation. When we did finally speak to a salesman, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable (able to answer questions which had stumped other Skoda dealers - about their own cars).

The who purchasing process was pain free, Mike kept us up to date on the paperwork and availability of the car, the handover was done as efficiently as possible (given the number of forms that have to be signed these days) and whilst all the usual insurance products were offered there was never a hard sell on these like I have experienced elsewhere.

Overall this was a great car buying experience and I would happily buy a car from Lookers again in the future.

Yes to Skoda, No to this dealership.  I do not recommend this particular Skoda branch.  The initial sales chap was excellent.  His name was Craig.  The product was good although I hasten to add that I was sold a 1.4 engine and later discovered when renewing my insurance that I had a car with a 1.6 engine (the older style).  The finance chap was cavalier and I found him to be pushy and frustrating. Later when I needed to make a change to my finance as my partner wanted to switch the finance in to my name Skoda HQ said it was free, but the finance chap at this Skoda dealership quoted me £200 over the phone 'for administration'.  I agreed despite advising what Skoda HQ had told me (as I am a pushover) however on arrival he said ah yes £300.  I noted that he had previously said £200 and he was quick to agree and I ended up paying £200.  I paid up but for me the engine error, and the finance debacle are really irksome.  So yes to Skoda, No to this dealership.

Poor facility for parking, small showroom, but sales people very helpful, need bigger premises to show cars only had small amount so didn’t have model I was looking for, but salesman got car that was being used by them to show me details which was good
