This is a really great place to go for a day out. One of the main reasons we like it is because it feels like they have a plan. Every time we go there's something new. We've recently seen the opening of Islands, with a new indoor tropical area and new outdoor food court serving delicious street style food. (There's still an indoor food hall with burgers and pizzas if that's more your thing) This has given a renewed reason to head over to that side of the zoo again, which I had neglected on previous visits. Recently they have started updating the Penguin enclosure, along with other sections of the zoo. Its really exciting! All the usual famous animals like lions and chimpanzees but a great selection of rarer species including a lot of reptiles and inverts. The butterfly house is particularly awesome and my little one loves the aquarium. The zoo is well laid out with lots of places to eat or grab a snack, as well as plenty of toilets and a large gift shop. The Staff are really great and always happy to chat, and it's fun keeping an eye out for some of the guys you might have seen on the TV show. Two weeks ago we purchased an annual membership, we go that often it makes sense for us as a family. Definitely recommended.

This is an amazing zoo well worth the money you can easily spend a day here wall around and seeing all the amazing animals they have to offer. This is by far one of the best zoo's within the UK. The zoo had lots of visitors but it's so big you hardly see people. You can tell the animals are well looked after and the pricing within the zoo for things like drinks and stuff isn't that bad

Great place, well worth being a member. Works out to equal about 3 visits. More than that and you’re better off. Fantastic zoo, always adding and improving it. The new islands section is really impressive. Great picnic facilities and parks too.

Brilliant zoo, very nice clean lots of great animals with great enclosures for both the animals and viewing. The concessions are a bit pricey but in all fairness it's what you expect. Plenty of picnic areas so you can take your own food. Good parking. Staff are polite and happy to engage with guests really enjoyed it here.

Really enjoyed Chester zoo. The selection of animals they have there are great. My children love to see the animals and it good to teach my children about animals. It's a good family day out. I've only given 4 stars as it's too much for one day. If you are going make sure you plan your day to make the most of it.
