Good variety of animals and spacious enclosures, seems like the zoo really cares about animal welfarennWent on a cool January weekday - busy with school children, not many animals out. Saw 1 animal sleeping in the distance in many cases. Recommend the bat cave and Monsoon forest for different monkeys and fish. No lions, snow leopard, elephants, or sun bears visiblennCheaper to book in advance - about a £10 difference if booked online.nnGood day out if you have kids, probably better in summer weather
Such a beautiful zoo. You can see the care given to the animals and the upgrades to their environment over the years is wonderful to see. Went in February and got the best views of the big cats that we’ve had over the last 12 months.
A really good day out. Visited in February with our 4 and 6 year old and spent a good 5 hours walking around. The restaurant was extremely busy at lunchtime but that's to be expected, otherwise everything else was great and would happily go again.
Lots of exhibits, and lovely animals. Definitely worth going in the spring/summer months. Feel bad for some of the animals that are a bit cooped up but these are some of the bigger exhibits I’ve seen at zoos and Chester zoo is an important conservation site.
An open plan zoo with such a large variety of animals. We did go on a bit of a cold day which caused some of the animals to stay inside but that's okay. Definitely need to revisit in better shoes as we spent the better part of 5 hours roaming around.nnWould highly recommend for any animal lovers.
