Appointments seem very rushed, I understand this is due to cuts, not enough doctors etc. However I feel that as the doctor was already late in seeing me, the appt was rushed even more so. On my second visit, when looking for hand sanitiser and being told there was some in the toilets I checked and there was no sanitiser or even soap for that matter. I told the receptionist and she sighed as she turned away, not saying anything to me... felt a bit rude and it’s a GP for god sake talk about hygiene. Nothing against the staff it’s just not a very nice environment when you’re ill and are seeking help.

Pretty careless with prescriptions. I've been with the surgery throughout my university experience and only needed their services over the last year. I live in the city centre and need my repeat perscription sent over to boots and each month, the last 5 months have been continuously either forgotten about or dismissed leaving me without them.

Honestly not a very good doctors to be linked with one of the top Universities in Wales. They have not given the best reviews of conditions I am going through, are very slow in providing extenuating circumstances when other surgeons do it faster. Calling up for morning appointments, which I would have to take the bus to get to (a huge hassle for a university student with deadlines). Even some of their doctors making feel worse about the situations I am in. They are VERY BAD at answering their phone calls and when they do, they claim I should have rung earlier when early is even earlier than their 8am opening. Also having a nurse on campus one day a week for the ATRiuM is not enough for all the students who have problems here. I hate being negative, but the past 3 years with Llanederyn (especially this last one), have not been good to me personally.

Quick service. Seems organised despite cuts.

The only reason they get two stars is because the doctors are nice and have listened, otherwise I don't have much good to say about them. I know they're affected by the NHS cut-backs like all surgeries, but that i not an excuse for the problem I've had with them. I take two different kinds of medicines for adhd and anxiety. From Llanedeyrn Health Centre I was sent to "their mental health team" in Pentwyn. Had an appointment with a doctor there and got my medicines and was told to use LHC's repeat prescription service in the future to get my medicines. When I called the repeat prescription line the first time, I was told they were going to talk to a doctor and that I should call back tomorrow. Sure, no problem, I thought. I called back the next day and was told (by a snarky nurse) that there was no notice about my previous call and that no doctor had been notified and was once again told to call tomorrow. Which I did. Then I found out that the nurse from the day before hadn't notified the doctor again, but the nurse I talked to then was very nice and told me there was no paper work from the mental health team for repeated prescription, but said that one of their doctors might be able to help me anyway and asked if I wanted them to call me back to discuss how to proceed. Later that day, a doctor called and said that she could write out a prescription for 30 days this time, but if the paperwork/notification from the mental health team (the one they ha sent me to) weren't in the system next time I called (and she told me to wait 3 weeks) I would have to talk to the doctor I had seen from the mental health team and fix it. I'm a patient, I shouldn't have to make sure they fix their notifications and paperwork. When I called the repeat prescription line about 3 weeks later, I was told that there was no problem and that my prescription should be sent to Boots on Friday (which was the three work days they need to fix a prescription). When I went to Boots on Saturday (I was unable to go on Friday), there was no prescription there and the surgery was, of course, closed. On Monday morning, I was going to visit my family for two weeks (and they don't live in UK), so I really needed my medicines. Thankfully, I could get them through the out-of-hours gp service. I'm almost out of medicines again and I'm dreading to call them again. It's not enough that phone calls in general makes me very anxious, but also the treatment I've been given when trying to get my medicines. I haven't yet found a new GP surgery, but when I do, I will definitely change and register with the new one. Llanederyn Health Centre might be good if you only need to visit them once in awhile, but I advice against contacting them if you need any repeat prescriptions.
