I was seen by Dr Zoe Barber with Lilian the wonderful nurse. Who immediately put myself and my partner at ease. I went off for a scan with a wonderful nurse and doctor within minutes. I had good news and I do believe if it was bad news I would have been in the best place. I had my consultation scans and drainage then another consultation and was out within the hour. Money well spent. As I only found the lump two days earlier.
Phoned Thursday to try to get urgent CT scan for mum in law, had to leave voicemail as couldn't speak to a person. No answer by Friday pm so I rang again and left another message. There was an email address given on the voicemail so to try get things sorted my husband emailed as they suggested we would get a reply in 24hrs but it's now Wednesday and we have not heard a thing! So disappointed with this service. Have sorted alternative now but this is not what you expect when you opt for private health care!
I was involved in a collision on Thursday and spent 9 and a half hours in A&E on the Friday and was diagnosed with a fracture of the pelvis and was sent home. Over the weekend I was in pain and found it very difficult to walk. I rang the clinic first thing Monday morning and was given an appointment that afternoon. I saw Doctor Shah who put my mind at rest and thoroughly explained the injury to me. I did not require an operation. I also underwent a partial knee replacement here 10 years ago and was extremely pleased with the care I received. Thank you all once again Stella
Had an MRI scan via insurance here and while the actual radiography team and process were excellent, the customer service side of the process was a huge let down. Lady on reception was unhelpful when I was asking about next steps, at one point walked off with another member of staff while I was waiting at the desk then when prompted by someone I was there just got another colleague to deal with me without saying anything. Had a follow up email to confirm details who then just ignored my question about next steps entirely. Left me at this point with no idea of when or how I'll get my results. Previous to this I had made several phone calls all the switchboard ones were totally unsuccessful and quite abrupt, but the ones to radiology were great. Despite my health insurance being the one to arrange the appointment they seemed to have no idea whether I was insured or not and I had to repeatedly answer the same questions. Overall so far great medical service severely let down by the customer facing side of things.
I had Cataract surgery on the 1st of March 2022, Mr Morris was my consultant. The hospital was spotlessly clean, and Covid 19 protocols were followed without fail. I found that the team from the receptionist all the way through to the surgical team were so friendly and I was completely at ease. I even received a follow-up call the day after from Mr Morris to check on my progress, when I need my next eye doing I will certainly be coming here.
It has taken at least 8 phone calls to arrange for my notes to be transferred from the NHS to the consultant I am seeing next week- what should be a simple process. It was like talking to a brick wall- receptionists, nurses, admin people. I was passed from pillar to post and given excuse after excuse- these ranged from 'there is a fire alarm, sorry, bye!' to 'I'm new so I don't know the system' to 'ring this number'- number was invalid. Utterly useless and incompetent. I am only going to this appointment as it is the same man I saw on NHS, so I want continuity. Once that is over I will avoid this place like the plague. So unprofessional and unreassuring.
I had to chase up follow on appointments after initial consultation. The first procedure was very painful as anesthetist did not wait for locoal anesthetist, numbing to work, he was also very abrupt. After procedure I was left in a corridor on a trolley for 20 minutes. Second procedure I told the anesthetist to wait longer for which he did and was more friendly this time, but again was left in a trolley in a corridor for 20 minutes. No sedation was offered on either occasion which I have had previously on NHS. I expect more than this when paying yourself for the treatment. Having been to Spire for treatment previously I think I'd go back there in the future.
I booked in for a nerve block injection. I’ve had 2 prior to this one on the NHS with very good results, Lasting between 6 to 9 months pain free. But with the waiting times now for the injection on the NHS prompted me to go private. I have NEVER experienced any pain like I did under the medical procedure with Mr Mcarthy. I never experienced any pain at all with the previous 2 injections and 2 days later I am no better off! A waste of time and a waste of money. Avoid at all costs!
Attended the breast clinic following changes identified by myself and my gp. The clinic and the staff were exceptional. So friendly, thorough and caring, that I felt I had to leave a review. I have previously been to a similar clinic in the spire a few years back, where staff had very little patient care skills. I can't talk for the rest of the of the hospital, but would 100% recommend the breast clinic.
Fantastic service, made an inquiry they responded immediately, I had an appointment for a consultation within two days. On arrival the women on reception were welcoming I was offered a drink, my appointment was dead on time so no waiting which rarely happens. Mr Morris was very helpful, he offered to do the procedure straight away his assistant was also very nice. I've had the same procedure done before through the NHS , and I cant believe how much better the experience was in Nuffield Health Hospital. I only wish I had made the appointment sooner instead of waiting on the NHS for over a year and getting nowhere.
