It's such a lovely, warm welcoming place. We haven't stayed there as we are local. We sat by the log burner, what a treat. The service and staff were excellent, and the food was delicious. My friend and I were approached by some unwelcome men, and I have to say the staff and manager were on the ball to have noticed how uncomfortable we were. All was absolutely fine, but it was so reassuring to know that someone was there to have our backs if needed. Well done Lion and Pheasant
Lovely unique hotel situated in a beautiful location which makes it easy for access to the shops, restaurants, bars and historic buildings. Rooms are each different and there’s lots of steps up and down to reach your destination. Nice and warm during my stay in December, food was excellent and staff were friendly parking is limited and very tight access if approaching from the English bridge. I suggest if that’s your route in then drive past and turn around in the NCP car park opposite then you’re more likely to approach with more room to squeeze through the original coaching archway with out taking your door mirrors off! I have stayed a few times now and wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else in Shrewsbury if you want some luxury and quirky old fashioned hotel. Defo a nice place to stay.
Delicious food, lovingly prepared, and presented by friendly attentive staff.nOur third consecutive New years Eve lunch at this venue, and looking forward to our next visit. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay over.
Great food on our first day in Shrewsbury. Went back twice. Staff very helpful, beautifully decorated and great selection of food on the menu. Also went back for cider again the next day. Well worth a visit. Would love to stay in the hotel next time rooms look amazing on the website. Definitely pop in
Greeted by Receptionist Holly who was very pleasant and helpful. A credit to you. Room 10 with 4 poster. Great attention to detail and everything was immaculate. Array of tea and coffee sachets in the room with plenty of milk. The breakfast was delicious and even had vegetarian option. Orange juice and coffee lovely. Lovely efficient and attentive staff. Fast service. The hotel is very cosy in every area and a bit different from the norm. We didn’t stay for lunch etc but the menu looked great. If the bedroom area had been a bit bigger I’d have given 10/10 but will say 9.5. There were even ear plugs on the drawers. Oh and delicious butter shortbread biscuits. Lovely fresh decor, so pleasant to wake up to. The guy on night duty on reception was lovely too!
