This is a difficult one to review. Called in on a Wednesday evening and it was busy and we got seated OK, albeit with no mention the kitchen will be closing soon.nnThis is the second time we’ve encountered an Italian restaurant not run by Italians, which makes it feel a little unauthentic, but we overlooked this.nnWe ordered antipasto expecting a selection of meat, cheese and bread but received prawn cocktail, chicken wings, bruschetta and pate, all actually quite nice but odd.nnThe pasta and pizza came quickly after as the kitchen was closing. Although apologetic we should have been warned, and the bill arrived shortly after with no offer of dessert.nnI should say the prices are very reasonable, otherwise the review would be more harsh.
Great atmosphere, kid friendly, outdoor seating area, with a dj playing music during our visit. All the Italian food favourites very tasty.
Because of some of the poor reviews , I was nervous about trying this place. And thought I’d post my honest feedback. Lovely restaurant building. Booked online and after a little wait due to a queue - shown quickly to our table, waiting staff very pleasant and attentive took our drink and food order pretty quickly. Starters came and were delicious. I had the prawns which were massive and really tasty, Hubbie had the bruschetta also tasty & my dad ordered the starter garlic bread - note this is big enough for four ppl! This is where it took a little dive, as waited over 45 minutes between courses. To then be told they’d ran out of salad for my parents steak meals… can’t help but feel they could have got someone to run over to Asda which is 5 mins away - but that’s not for me to say! but appreciate this was out of their control due to a delivery issue.. but the long wait to be told was rather frustrating. Main meals arrived. I ordered pasta and felt the portion size was quite small, - but I must say was very tasty and I enjoyed it very much. Parents had the sirloin steak. Mums steak was very large and dads was small, even though they ordered the same. But both agreed very tasty and good chips! Due to lack of salad, thought they would have offered more chips … I asked them if we could have tomatoes and olives to accompany which they did for us. Hubbie had the risotto and was good portion size and enjoyable. So overall we did enjoy the food , oh and the cocktails.. just let down a little by the slowish service. But waiters were very friendly. A good night overall.
We were greeted by a cheerful waiter. Interesting interiors. Reasonably price for food. We had the Arancini stuffed with cheese.. beautiful!. I ordered the surf and turf with med-rare fillet done perfectly and unexpected surprise with mussels and juicy prawn.nThe tap in the bathroom is inspiring and would use that design in future. We went on a Saturday at 5pm and very lucky to get a table without waiting but do recommend booking.
Quite hard to review. The place was packed and is clearly popular. Prices were reasonable but the portions were tiny. The lasagne and pasta dishes were more like starter portions and did not feed a child. They were also quite bland in flavour. The potato skins were oily and again tiny. The pizza however was decent and so was the Sirloin. We did not want to pay £8 for a dessert so did not try them. I could not fault the service however. We were well looked after.
