Cosy place. The decor and music was the best of the 90's. We saw a menu before finding it and liked the simple selection rather than a lengthy menu. The food was good and presented well and good choice for desserts. Toilets were clean and staff were polite. Gave a four star as the service was slow even though it wasn't busy and there was plenty of staff.
Was looking forward to the grill on the hill but I’m sad to say I was disappointed. For starters I had meat balls which tasted good but the balls were more on the cold side. For mains I had the scallops and black pudding which works well more than I thought it would but unfortunately my poached egg was raw. I did mention it to one of the staff and she apologised politely. My acquittance for evening enjoyed his stuffed chicken but proffered his smocked haddock chowder starter.
This place is a bit different, you notice almost immediately, very quirky, quite a posh feel but comfortable and welcoming none the less. Staff were very friendly. A bit pricey, and food quality was reasonable, probably need to refine the menu options slightly, still it gets full marks from me everything considered.
Everything about this place is lovely, it has a wonderful, if not quirky, interior. The day menu which is from Tuesday to friday was a brilliant price at just over £10.00 for three courses, all of which had brilliant portion sizes and were delicious. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A place to go if your in the area and looking for a good meal.
I enjoyed my time at this establishment, the food was nice, the staff were very cool. The only complaint was that there was an odd what seemed human squealing noise coming from the kitchen, gave me a chuckle. I would return.
Didn't book thought we might be unlucky but all good got a table no problem, waitresses extremely pleasant, good selection of food and cooked to perfection loved it going back tomorrow as only up here for two days

Excellent meals. Main course and desert beautifully presented and tasted wonderful we also left feeling full. We were kindly served a free cocktail in celebration of royal wedding today. A shame we only came upon this restaurant at the end of our holiday or we would be back tomorrow. The chef takes pride in what he does and spoke to customers explaining how he combines flavours. 6* from us.
