One of the worst care homes to work for. From medication not being ordered or going missing to the lack of confidentiality. Residents families dont get informed in a reasonable time frame if their loved have a fall or any other incident and the managers are always too busy if you need to speak to them or they're outside smoking.
Probably the best Residential Care Home in the World!!!nnI put my dad in Larkhill Hall in August 2021 this was initially for respite but he has lived there ever since. I cannot stress enough how lovely and caring the staff are, not only to my dad but to me also. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They all asked what my dad liked, what he ate, all his little idiosyncrasies and they cater to all his needs. The food is always fresh, looks well prepared with lots of choice for residents. It is a beautiful, clean residential home where clients are treated with love, respect and kindness. There is always a lovely feel when you walk in and no horrid smell like some care homes!. I have seen other residential care homes which don't come close to Larkhill Hall in any aspect, if you are lucky enough to get a place in Larkhill Hall for your loved one, you won't regret it!
Larkhill-Hall is a lovely clean modern building, en-suite to every bedroom, lounge, dining room on each floor, gardens for residents to sit out in summer, but its not the building that makes it special its all the staff. Your loved one is treated with the utmost respect, dignity and empathy, your loved one is like our extended family, we all have an extra granddad or grandma, nothing is too much trouble to ensure your loved one is happy and content in their new home. I have worked at Larkhill for over four years and yes there has been hardships but we strive to ensure your loved one is cared for.in a way we would care for our own. I have never felt more at home as I do now with the management and staff who work with me.
having had experience of other homes with different family membersnIf I had to live in a care home this would be my choice.my Mother-in-Lawnnow has memory & mobility issues but we are safe in the knowledge that the staff are caring quick to act if a problem arrives keep us informed know matter what time night or day if worried about her health.nthey have an amazing schedule of entertainment for the residents whichnis quite rare other homes have this but are never acted on.this home doesneverything to care,entertain and it also never has a care home smell which when testing out homes we all know what that is.nwould reccommend based on our experience.
My dad was here initially for 2 weeks restbite summer 2021 but stayed a few months. We was promised a raised toilet & a shower chair that would be in place before he arrived. He never did get them. He hated the home and said the Manager & 3 night staff are nasty to himself and other residents. He's singing like a canary with tales of what goes on in here. All the day staff are lovely he said.nnAt night time people also helped themselves to his personal belongings in his room. He couldn't stop them, as he's unable to move on his own.nnOur elders deserve upmost respect in these care homes
