I would like to give this place 5 stars and here is why. We walked here on Saturday from Travelodge expecting nothing. It was a lovely sunny day, with loads of people enjoying drinks, pizza, and sunshine outside. Although I didn’t like the fact that there was no outside food available except pizza at that point and we couldn’t get a table inside, and there were too many empty glasses and rubbish outside, we still had an amazing time. Our kids really enjoyed playing at the back, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Despite a few minor issues, the overall experience was fantastic, and we look forward to coming back. Kid-friendliness: Loads of space for kids to play, there was a bouncy castle and a play area
Five of us went for the bottomless brunch, and it was amazing. We got upgraded to VIP, so we had numerous cocktails, and the waitress looking after five rowdy women was lovely. The food was beautiful, two of us had the chicken tikka hanging kebabs, which were delicious and the other three had pizzas which again was gorgeous. Courtney went above and beyond to serve us our meals and the drinks. She was amazing, friendly, and full of fun. We tried to give her a tip at the end of the night, but she said it had to go in the tip jar. We had a word with Zach, the supervisor, and he explained that this was company procedure. Whilst I agree to a certain extent with this, we all, as a group, wanted Courtney to have it all for putting up with us. However, we had a cracking night and will definitely be back again. Did take photos of the hanging kebabs, but my pals were behind them, so not appropriate to share them. Parking: Car park is a tight squeeze, but plenty of parking on the road leading to it. Wheelchair accessibility: It's all on a level apart from the toilets so this will be a problem for wheelchairs. Not sure if they was another toilet elsewhere, though.
Popped in for a lunch with some friends and very glad we did. The food was excellent. A few of us had the hot roast beef rolls with gravy & some of the best pub chips I have ever had. Others in the party had the Lakeside burger, coated sarnie & minced beef & dumpings all equally delicious. There was a bit of a wait but believe me it was well worth it & I am a firm believer that if your food comes out too quick then it's probably not fresh. The staff were all warm & welcoming. We will all be back again soon
Never have I ordered belly pork before and not got belly pork and also never has it been battered. Not the best outing I’ve had person behind me got in a huff over no mayo and service when asking for some. The lady just up from me had her dish come out not to temperature. An hour wait for food was said when ordering but me and my mate didn’t really enjoy either of our meals unfortunately. Maybe it was an off night in there as he had been before and not just the one occasion. My noodles with my pork didn’t seem to be very cooked and my pork was lukewarm as well. My mates chicken sizzler didn’t sizzle for starters and he also received at least a ladle worth of chilli sauce. Would try again just in case it was an off night and there was food handed out that looked quite good like the nachos and the hanging skewers.
Very disappointed. The food I ordered was awful. The salt and pepper chicken was so dry and more salty chicken. The staff were a little off too - a little rude and snappy. Basic things like offering condiments and making sure the food was ok just didn’t happen. Won’t be going back for food again as it has gone downhill quite a bit in recent times. The pub itself is lovely for sure though. So a great place for a drink.
Booked for a wedding reception of 30 people. The room is lovely and comfortably accommodated our guests. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and did everything they could to make our day special. Food was brilliant, we ordered the carvery lunch which was delicious, and the chef was also very accommodating to our vegan and vegetarian guests and made a special dish just for them. Our reception was booked at quite short notice but the brilliant staff and chef did everything they could to accommodate us and made sure everything went smoothly! Would definitely recommend the Lakeside for anyone looking for a venue for a special occasion.
Went out tonight with family for my granddaughters birthday there was 11 of us. We all ordered our starters and mains, instead of everyone getting their food at the same time it came out drips and drabs. By the time I got my starter everyone else in the table had finished theirs. Gas had gone off on the pizza oven so when staff brought a family members pizza out wrong order she basically said it’s this pizza you can have or you can order something else. Food wasn’t up to scratch and as for the mixed grill it was terrible. I won’t be going back . 2 starters, 2 mains , 3 pints of madri and 2 diet cokes £75 or near to that

We've been calling in here since it opened, lots of space inside, staff are always friendly as quick as possible. Large carpark with space outside if full. DO NOT PARK OPPOSITE THE FARMERS GATE. Wheelchair accessible. The Peppered Chicken Stack is recommended, tried it several times now and always good.Food: 5/5
Absolutely lovely place, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff! Had a date night here and first time we've been but will definitely be back Food was so good too
