Lovely tasty food. Very friendly. Great place all round. Been coming here years. Recently refurbished modern environment. Do not hesitate.
I booked this restaurant because of the proximity to the city centre. The service is excellent, all the waiters were very polite in particular the manager who was very polite and kind. Went with a vegetarian friend who had a mushroom puri as a starter and saag paneer it is a side but ask and they make it as a main and i had a nargis kebab as starter pictured and nawabi chicken for main. We shared naan bread a plain rice. The food was very tasty. I personally think the hard boiled egg didn't go with the nargis kebab but then removing the hard boiled egg would mean it is no longer a nargis kebab! The nawabi chicken was beautiful and nutty- which i really enjoyed. Unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert but if we get a chance to go again we will definately try dessert options. Overall a very good and enjoyable dining experience. The only snag was the music, it was instrumental versions of English songs. As it is an Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurant I would have rather been listening to Indian/ Bangladeshi instrumentals/ songs- but that is me really finding something to complain about.
Food was very nice and very nice deco also will be visiting it again.
Impressed with this restaurant. 3 adults and 2 children went on a Groupon offer. They don’t have children’s portions but kindly let the children share. Decor was nice and modern. Clean appearance . Food hygiene rating of 5. Most important the food was really good. Special mention to my Chicken Chat starter which I thought was fantastic. The mains all had good flavours. I would recommend this restaurant if you are going to the Hippodrome etc. As it’s a very short walk away.
Great food but the portions are quite small. I loved the chicken tikka masala.
I've been going to Kohinoor for many years but not been for a few due to working overseas. I was pleasantly surprised to see it has finally had a refit though the legendary tree in the middle is now gone, though there are some homages to it on the wall. Its now a more modern interior however it's also smaller too due to part of it being closed off. I found out it was sold about a year ago though the management and staff have remained. The late opening hours have changed so going there after a night out is no longer an option. When we got there it was clear despite it being smaller the were not enough staff and they struggled to get and serve all the people promptly. We had to wait to be seated about 20 minutes and despite ordering drinks and poppadoms to have during this wait time, they never managed to get them until after we had finally been seated. The food was served quite promptly for us though it was clear there were other unhappy customers who had been waiting quite a while. The food was tasty and hot with no complaints on that side. I would still recommend it but also recommend you check opening hours and reserve a table too.
Lovely restaurant. Staff are very friendly and humble and go out of their way to provide a memorable experience. Food is very tasty and there is plenty of choice. The staff will recommend something to your taste and I've been impressed every time! The restaurant is very comfortable and tastefully decorated and there is always a nice atmosphere.
Love this place. The food is great. Very comfy chairs. Service is not the fattest but we are happy with that. The current Groupon deal on offer is £16 for 2 starters 2 mains and 2 naan or rice. Fantastic value. They will happily give you any of it to go if that's what you want.
Been going here intermittently since 1969. Good food at reasonable prices. Decor old school and dated. The huge tree in the middle of the restaurant hasn't changed in almost 50 years and is still an eye catcher. Quiet most times in the week
Great food great service. Friendly staff well worth the visit. Would highly recommend!!! Me and friends regulars now, is just so good value for outstanding food. Return fantastic and the food is as good as the restaurant looks!
