Have to admit, it took a bit of finding the site, must of drove past it twice; the entrance is between a house and a small church Kirk. There was nobody there to greet us upon arrival; however, each of the pitches are clearly identified and as the site isn't to big, you should have no problem setting up and finding all the amenities. The toilet block is spotlessly clean, although is a little dated. The site is well kept / managed. Although dogs are allowed, there isn't a designated walk, only instructions that they should be walked 'off-site'. It does give an excuse to visit the local pub, were the staff were friendly. There would be no reason not to stay there again; however, it doesn't feel like a site I'd get excited about.
A small but clean and tidy site set just of the centre of the village. Community shop and butcher is within walking distance. The toilet block is a bit dated but kept immaculately clean. Booking online only as no warden on site.
This is a beautiful small site, with excellent cycling and walking in the immediate area. The scenery is nothing short of stunning. The facilities are again small but kept in immaculate condition and spotlessly clean and both Fiona and her Dad gave us a warm welcome.
Our second visit. It’s a delight. The site is very well maintained but it seems to happen by magic- or by a well run system. Water piping hot. Easy access to black, gray and blue waters servicing. Great walking land - long distance, pilgrim, Roman. Pub, shop, butcher within 3 mins stroll of site. Most of the motorhome hardstanding are directly off the access road; helpful given the wet spring.
We stayed here for 3 nights with our 3 young children and we had a lovely time. The site is very quiet, clean & well maintained. The owners are very friendly and we felt welcome on the site. There is lots of nice scenery and local walks, ideal for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. We wouldn't have any hesitation in staying here again. Thank you for having us!
Positives: The site is extremely well maintained, toilet blocks are clean and shower gets lovely and hot. There is a outdoor washing area which is very useful. The area is beautiful. Negative: The downfall for us was the fact we were approached by the owner within 30 mins of being there and still putting the 8 man tent up to advise the site was a quiet site and the children needed to be quiet. The children were looking around and were excited however were not overly loud and were only exploring the site whilst we were putting the tent up. We spent the rest of the weekend constantly worrying that every peep from them would upset people. I do think it spoiled the experience for us and wish that we were warned when making the booking that children and normal children's excitement would be an issue. We actually had comments from other site users that the children were well behaved and it brightened their days to see them camping, so we do wonder why the owner seemed to have an issue with them. I have given the four stars as it is a lovely campsite and perfect for couples and families who have angelic children who make no noise and had we not had the negative start, i would have given the full stars but i have to be honest with my review and take off a star for how we were made to feel.
Well maintained site. Plenty of taps for water. Good electric amps. Recycling bins. Hav'nt used the shower block, so can't comment on them personally but hear they are kept clean. Very dog friendly we have 5, plenty of walks just off site. Beautiful views. We came 5yrs ago and are here again just now.
11 hours kip!!!! Because this place was silent, sheltered, flat and the best hot shower going!! I’m loathe to recommend you in case I can’t get back in. Thank you so much and what a fabulous site. Will be back ASAP
Very quiet apart from the sheep. Small site but very panoramic would highly recommend and will definitely come back
Cant fault it.. very simple a pitch a hook up and clean toilets slightly dated but spotless. Only one shower. But a tidy .clean. and welcoming site.
