A proper pub near Bawtry, Doncaster, serving locally sourced, home made food and speciality pies in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Story

We are a traditional country pub, located in Scaftworth, a stone's throw away from the lovely boutique market town of Bawtry.

We are set in an acre of grounds, with a beautiful riverside location.

We are open 7 days, and serve food at the following times:

Mon - Thurs: 5:00pm - 9:30pm
Fri & Sat: 12:00pm - 9:30pm
Sun: 12:00pm - 8:00pm

We serve home made pies, along with high quality home made food and a cracking Sunday roast!! Our chips are well regarded as the best about!

Have wanted to eat here for a long time, but when we finally did we visited on a Sat afternoon for late lunch, ho dear. The bread was rationed with the starter, both the shared Camembert and the vegi soup need more than the four and two pieces issued, But the starter was tasty. My main course of fish and chips was very disappointing, the fish was great but it was placed on top of a few fat soaked chips which were inedible. lord knows where my pees came from, but they truly looked as if they had been scraped off a previous diners plate considering the poor, crushed, partially mushed up condition of them and there appeared to be bits of broccoli in the mix for good measure. What I was served looked nothing like the picture on their website. The beer was great But we wont eat there again.

Great views and nice staff. Great place to relax after work. Heard lots of good things about the menu so will have to pay a visit in the evening or weekend.

Not enough choice on menu my husband struggled to find something he would eat. Also took a while for the food to arrive.

Good food in a frendly atmasfear with a butyfull beer garden and stunning views on to grazing land often with a jersey heard grazing the land . Roger

This is a great little pub just outside of Bawtry. Service is always superb and the staff are friendly. Cosy dining rooms And great food locally sourced.
