Lovely spot, dog friendly and staff very kind. I had a jacket potato and my partner had scrambled eggs with beans and toasts all good. Coffee is also nice.

Stopped in here with friends at the start of a walk from Eastbourne to Newhaven. Although a kiosk by name, it does have seating under cover and uncovered. The lady who served me was polite and efficient as was the waitress who brought it to us. The food was served very quickly and was as good as I could have hoped for. I had a sausage and egg sandwich. I went for white bread which was soft and fresh and I gobbled it down pretty quickly with my coffee.
Great cake and tea. Lovely location at the foot of Beachy Head. Dog friendly too which is always welcome.

While they're happy to offer water to dogs, today I wasn't so lucky. Today was an incredibly hot day and whilst on the verge of collapsing from heat exhaustion, I asked if they'd refill my water bottle with tap water. I was refused, and told to walk down to the Holywell cafe area where there's a water fountain. Halfway to the Holywell Cafe I pretty much collapsed. Given they are happy to offer water to dogs but refused me, well you can imagine how that comes across. A little compassion goes a long way.

Probably deserves a sixth star! Very friendly, very fast. Good breakfast, cheapest in Eastbourne for this quality, massive sandwich baguettes, fresh cakes and decent, freshly ground coffee of which they are very proud. Dog friendly, convenient spot with bike spots and bus stops next to it. Best breakfast I had in Eastbourne.
I agree with Elenas previous comment....we too have experienced the same treatment. We have been publically embarrassed by being told loudly and rudely to leave the table as they are reserved and you can't sit there. This has happened a few times now. When asked if its possible to book a table we were told no....you just come in as we dont take bookings. But when you try to sit at an empty table you are told they are reserved I take that as 'booked'.The tables remain empty for the chosen few regulars to appear at random and every one else has to sit outside on the grass. We asked if we could sit at a table until the 'chosen regular' appears but this is not allowed either. So I would just like to make sure I have understood the owners' instructions that this cafe is for take-away only unless you are a chosen regular who can sit at a table. I am a local and walk over the downs with other walkers and my dogs and cannot comprehend the attitude of the owners. I have never come across a cafe with such discriminatory restrictions before. It is definitely not inclusive and all welcoming. I would totally understand if the tables were full and we had to sit outside, but unfortunately they remain empty. Many of us have decided we will never give our custom to such an unfriendly establishment in the future. There are other more welcoming places around.
