Fantastic place full of character and food is amazing the breakfast was the best iv had for a long time. Only wished we lived closer to make it our regular.
Beautiful cafe, a real hidden gem in the heart of Chester! Went for afternoon tea- sandwiches bursting full, huge fresh scones and ample selection of teas and cakes or prosecco. Can't beat the price, considering delicious food in a listed building on the rows in the middle of Chester. Ask for a seat upstairs for an authentic experience. Thank you for an unforgettable lunch!
Great afternoon tea, plenty of lovely sandwiches cakes scones, strawberries and cream, and endless Tea and Coffee all great quality
Don't come here for green teas. Ordered loose leaf jasmine tea, however our experience with drinking the tea was pretty much below average. Sadly the tea was extracted at too high of a temperature causing it to taste awfully astringent. The metal teapots were also really hot to handle and could potentially cause burns. Photo attached shows these ouchy teapots. I'm writing this review hoping you guys will improve in the future and never steep these kinds of green teas over 80C because it causes them to go unecessarily bitter and ruins the taste profile. This is the reason for the 1 star.
We used a gift voucher here for an afternoon tea for 4 people, and what a treat it was. We all had nice pots of hot tea and each had a cake stand loaded with sandwiches ,a cake of choice, and a fresh scone with jam, butter, and clotted cream. Then to top it all there was fresh strawberries and cream. Highly recommended .
Fascinating old building in Chester City centre. Good food, nice to have loose leaf tea rather than tea bags. Attentive service. Pity it was nearly empty we did arrive at the end of the day, however Food: 4/5
Had a great lunch here today, delicious soup, nice sandwiches, loose tea and plenty of it. All at a reasonable price and with pleasant, helpful staff.
Absolutely amazing 13th Century building serving food and drink. Very querky building. Toilet's are on the top floor so would not suit a less able bodied person if they need the loo here. Food and drink were very nice and reasonably priced. All staff very friendly too.
Fantastic tea room, full of character, lots to choose from the menu, great food and great service! Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in the area!Food: 5/5
One of the best experiences in Chester. The original tea is so good. My favourite menu is fruity scone, melted in the mouth with soft cream and jam. Price was not too expensive.
