All the time is an adventure because is possible that new stuff is there.nnI love how huge is the store, everything clean, tidy, and a very friendly staff.nnI love go in weekdays because is less people inside, so you enjoy your visit.
This was my first visit to a John Lewis store, having previously bought items from them online. I was very impressed at how many different departments and items there were.nnWe had only popped in to spend away some time before our lunch reservation, but we ended up returning after lunch to continue.nnBest place I've seen for perfume testers, better than any airport. We are currently in the process of planning a major redecoration of our reception rooms at home, and saw many items we will be back for, or inspired by.nnStaff were also very helpful when called upon.
Visited the cafe on 25th November 2024. Everything about the cafe is a disaster. It appears to be reeling like a rudderless ship. Unacceptable waits for a simple cup of tea, whilst numerous staff dither around ineffective and seemingly confused about simple tasks. The whole area has a look of dishevelled abandonment and the staff look unkempt. Something is going seriously wrong in this area which is a shame because the rest of the shop is lovely. After Christmas shopping, I needed a relaxing break but was faced with long queues and endless tables piled with dirty cups and saucers. If this is all John Lewis can provide for valued customers they should close the cafe to save face.
Thank you to Paige who was working in the furniture department. Very helpful lady who assisted us last thing on Saturday. We also wanted to know what colour paint one of the displays was painted as we really liked it. She tried to find out but couldn't and promised us a call back the next day. To our delight she did call back the next day sorry Paige I didn't hear the call, but luckily she left a voicemail and a very detailed message - great customer service - thank you!
Do Not Buy from John Lewis – They Do Not Honour Their GuaranteesnnI purchased an electrical item for over £1,000, reassured by the guarantee that explicitly states the item would be repaired, replaced, or refunded in the event of a breakdown within the covered period. When an issue arose, John Lewis refused to uphold this commitment.nnDespite multiple attempts to resolve the matter, their customer service was dismissive, unhelpful, and rude. My calls were cut off twice. When I went in person, no solutions were offered. Instead of the reliable aftercare I expected, I was ignored and undervalued as a customer. It’s disappointing to see a once-respected company treat customers this way.nnIt is no surprise that John Lewis stores continue to close when this is how they treat their customers. A guarantee is a commitment, not just a marketing tool, and failing to uphold it damages trust.nI won’t be shopping with John Lewis again—and I’ll be advising others to take their business elsewhere too.
