Story

Situated in the heart of The Centre:MK, Jamie's Italian in Milton Keynes is full of character with proper rustic features that are offset by huge windows and Jamie's Italian twists. Our first-floor restaurant space with the iconic antipasti bar as a backdrop, is the perfect place to tuck into some of our authentic Italian dishes, and our bar is great for enjoying a glass of Prosecco with nibbles. The food last night was beyond first class. Our waitress Christina was so helpful and lovely. We mentioned that we has theatre tickets and our food was served quickly but not rushed. The bill arrived in perfect time and we got to the theatre in good time.

Nipped in to Jamie's whilst we were doing our final Christmas shopping. We had been to his restaurant in Birmingham and had a wonderful experience. Sadly this is where the similarity ends! We queued to get in and were then told we had to book a table. Most of the tables were empty that we would see. We were told to come back in half an hour, perhaps they were whipping out a new extension to the restaurant whilst we nipped in to M&S, how exciting. When we returned we had to wait again as there was a another queue that were also being told that they hadn't booked and needed to come back in half an hour. Still lots of empty tables inside. Anyway we were eventually seated and after a 20 minute wait asked if we would like a drink. My wife asked for a diet coke and was told that Jamie's didn't sell any old regular branded version but some super duper cola called "Karma Cola". My wife is a little fussy about her favorite soda beverage so asked if she could try a sample. The waitress told us that this wasn't the policy. My wife decided to give it a go anyway, who dares wins and all that. Anyway the drinks turn up, my wife tastes the "Karma Cola" turns her nose up and tells me it tastes like flat soda stream cola. I took a sip, it really did, only a lot worse. She orders some water instead. My lemonade was fine though. Thanks for asking. Anyway the food turns up after about another 20 minutes, we eat, we leave, we nip in to a couple more shops, we get back to the car, we start to drive home. That's when the problems start! Lets just say my wife's stomach hasn't been the same since. I hate to say the "Karma Cola" had anything to do with it but I really can't think of anything else that could have caused such an upset stomach sadly. Let's just say as we left the restaurant there must have been half a dozen un-drunk bottles of "Karma Cola" on tables. The lemonade was fine though!

Wonderful restaurant with a fun atmosphere with really well prepared food. Staff very friendly. Jamie has definitely put his own personal stamp on this place. Prices very fair. Child friendly. At least you can say you've had a meal prepared by Jamie Oliver even if he wasn't there in person.

Once more we had an excellent lunch. Fresh ravioli with mushrooms and nice salad. Nice service and just few tables with people.

Lovely friendly service. I chose to have the Cauliflower Cheese Gnocchi (despite being a vegetarian and it not having the V, in my estimation it is a vegetarian dish), which was delicious. Definitely a restaurant I'd gladly return to.
