I have used The Islington Flooring Group on many of my interior design projects and have always found Chris and his team do a fantastic job each time. Professional and always willing to go the extra mile, plus if we have had an issue they resolve it - which is fantastic and ensures that I will keep using them and happy to highly recommend their services.
We had carpets installed by The Islington Flooring Company about 2 years ago - we were so happy with the service that we recently had more carpets fitted. Ahmed did a great job coordinating the fitting, ordering & installation with a speedy turnaround, and Guy did a wonderful job installing the carpets. Once again we are very happy with the outcome! 10/10 :-D

Decided to place Amtico laminated flooring in the bedrooms, the same that I had on the hallway and living room. Extremely please for having gone with Islington Flooring Company, they were truly great. Had a very good first impression when I reached out for a quote for the service, again a really good impression when they came to do some measurements and a excellent feedback from the tem that placed the floor. They really are professional, took the time to explain what joiners they recommended and which one looked best and the flooring placement is really great, my rooms look awesome. Truly recommend them!
We had amtico in the whole of the downstairs as well as a stair runner installed. The whole process was really smooth. The fitters were super efficient and got our downstairs done in 2 days and the stair runner done in less than a day. We got a number of quotes too, and this was by far the best value! will definitely be using you guys again for our upstairs
Knowledgeable and helpful staff in the shop, very straightforward process getting quote and happy to work around our timelines. Danny, the fitter, and his team were absolutely fantastic! They bent over backwards to accommodate us and the rest of the work going on in our flat and made sure we got the perfect finish. His artistic flair is evident with the creative way he tackled the few steps up to our kitchen! He and his team were happy in their work and very kind and respectful whilst in our home. I am very happy to highly recommend.
This is the second time I've used Islington Flooring company and I've been very happy on both occasions. Chris was super helpful and knowledgeable with his advice; and Danny & the install team were polite, accommodating and did a very professional and polished pardon the pun job.
We hired The Flooring Group’s Islington branch to source and install engineered walnut flooring back in July 2017 in two bedrooms for a total cost of £6.5k. The experience can only be described as abysmal! Here are just some of the issues: installed wrong underlay and placed on-top of the carpet underlay to save time; cut the skirting boards at the incorrect height damaging them to the point they needed replaced; dented the walls; scratched the bed; installed scraped and dented boards; took months to address poor workmanship; ignored and then obfuscated when asked for basic information when a claim was issued; installed two different colours of floorboards from different product runs, factories, and countries leaving obvious different woods in the master bedroom and the smaller bedroom being a different colour than the master; installed different thresholds in the two rooms with some being damaged at point of installation and took over a year to settle the claim. After sheer exhaustion of dealing with the ‘jokers’ that are the management of this firm I accepted a settlement from them after issuing legal proceedings in the County Court. While I gave up the fight of trying to get the different woods installed ripped up and replaced, I did get c. £900 back after about a year of arguing. The default excuse for poor product and workmanship from this firm is “within industry tolerances”, see the photos of their work, the different wood and thresholds are not within the tolerances expected of a firm that purports to be experts and who say they check wood before installation to make sure it matches to avoid many of the issues we faced. Avoid these people at all costs! The photos speak for themselves. Having to go to County Court was a massive pain. Having the manufacturer of the floor agree that the wood was 'within industry standard' was a ruse. Islington Flooring even in an email to us pre-dispute said that one benefit of using them was that they check the wood before installation to make sure it all comes from the same batch, which ours did not. They installed wood one year apart from different factories, in different countries, in different batches. When you purchase from them, ask them if they would install wood that came from two different production runs, from two different factories, made a year apart, and made in two different countries. Also, Boen is complicit in the obfuscations used by Islington Flooring, pick wood from a different manufacturer and don't go with Islington Flooring. As a point of reference here are photos more than a year on from installation comparing the two rooms. You can see that they are different colours. You can also see in the room with the darker floor that even there the wood has a clear line of difference, matching exactly where the two types of wood was used the job was completed with two sets of wood, made a different times, in different factories, in different countries..., but according to Boen and Islington Flooring there is no difference, sure.... Boen said that the wood 'will change over time' to match, which it hasn't and oddly that excuse contradicts Boen's website that says its engineered wood is sealed with UV protection to stop colour changes. It is up to you do determine if the wood matches and if the finish is excellent, I strongly advise checking the photos attached with this review. The agreed claim settlement is also a strong indication of what was right. We didn't pursue the whole claim to Court as Islington Flooring worse us down from sheer idiocy.
I have used The Flooring Group in Islington for over a decade and feel completely confident about recommending them to my friends. They are genuine experts in the supply and installation of carpets and hard flooring. They remove the jeopardy by measuring up for you and their showroom and guidance makes light work of considerations such as colour, finish, timing etc. The icing on the cake is the traditional style of service - rare nowadays - whereby they take all the work off your hands and then thank you for your custom. :
I had a fantastic experience with the company on my cork flooring project. They were incredibly professional and efficient, and the attention to detail they showed throughout the process ensured that the job was done right. I'm so glad I chose them - they did a fantastic job!
