Islington Boxing Club (previously known as 'Islington Boys Club') is the North London's premier boxing gym, est. since 1974.

Based in Upper Holloway the IBC provides boxing sessions for the whole community, ranging from competitive boxing classes, beginners academy classes and recreational sessions. It especially looks for and encourage young people to attend, giving them a focus, showing them discipline and teaching camaraderie.

We cater for serious boxers who want to compete as well as running recreational/non contact boxing fitness classes for those that can 'enjoy' the same rigorous workouts without the full contact combat. The club also started works with local schools that train at the club as well as other boxing themed activities.

I was very intimidated going boxing for the first time but this place is genuinely welcoming and the coaches are very kind. The class with Dan and Rider is a great workout and place to learn some of the basics. There’s a great club cat and you always get a warm welcome . I love going here.

I have been taking my young son here for quite some time and he likes it very much, I have seen quite a change in him as a result of the boxing classes. It is a great gym that possess all the modern equipment needed for a good boxing workout. It can get quite crowded especially in the kids classess but the coaches are true professionals and want the best for each kid that goes there.  They are very encouraging and give feedback to parents on their kids boxing progession, the kids are put through their paces and they come out better kids as a result. If more youths took up boxing there wouldn't be half as much crime in London today. Keep up the good work lads this is the place where boxing champions are made.

A location to rival Mighty Mick's. Not only is it a great gym, they also have some amazing pieces of boxing memorabilia on show to keep you inspired while you work the bag.

I’ve boxed in a lot of places in London. But there is something special about islington boxing club, it’s has that family feel too it ! Friendly place to really buckle down and learn The fine art of boxing … great coaches, great atmosphere … to train the best sport in the world  couldn’t recommend it higher

My son attends the Junior Academy at IBC and trains every week...he loves it. I think the discipline is good for the children and is very much needed. The training is good, varied to keep them interested and professional. The only down side is the end of the month when the champ is decided and the medals go out they all what it! and the grumpy lad at home if we say that something has prevented his training...which is all good!

Great place, very friendly staff. I started almost a year ago and everyone here is very welcoming to all skill levels. All the coaches are great, skilled and very dedicated. By far the best spot in London Special thanks to my coaches: Lucien, Connor and Slav for the great work ethics and dedication.

Before joining IBC I was a little apprehensive as I didn’t know what to expect in terms of the gym and the atmosphere. I initially spoke with Lenny who was really friendly and listened to what I was looking for, I had my first PT session with Lucien Reid in August 2020 and to be honest, it’s the best thing I’ve done, Lucien is a great coach who knows how to get the best out of you, my fitness levels have improved so much. I can’t recommend this gym enough, all the staff  Millie, Tina, Jackie, Connor, Marvin to name a few  are so welcoming.

We had a super crazy class on a Saturday. Come the new year I think we’ll have to join. Thanks Dan :

Come on man, BEST place in London! It's like your favourite barbershop, but with punching bags! All types of folk, all types of trainers, three rings, lots of space, lots of bags. A little slice of heaven!
