My wife and I had an early Thursday evening dinner at this very welcoming and attractive village pub. From start to finish the service was second to none. The staff gave us as much of their time as we needed, helping us to navigate the menu and drinks selection. For my main course I opted for rump steak huge and succulent and my wife very much enjoyed her bream. Portion sizes extremely generous. Malva and Double Chocolate brownie completed our meal, which we both agreed was one of the best we have enjoyed in a while. Currently there is an offer of 2 courses for £22 on a Wednesday and Thursday - so a great meal for an extremely competitive and very fair price. Our compliments to the chef and thanks to the front-of-house staff for looking after us so well. Needless to say, we would highly recommend this pub. Give it a go!
Wonderful old stone country pub in a quaint little village on the outskirts of Bath. Lovely outside seating areas on several different levels, and inside looks great too with a log fire etc. Staff are great as well. Doesn't have much parking but there's loads of room to park on the road. Little bridge and a river right next to it which is very picturesque. Would highly recommend!
Incredible food & ambience! Wow this place is incredible. We are here from London staying at the home wood hotel just 5 mins from the pub. We have have stopped at the pub prior to checking in and we can’t believe the quality of food and service. We will 100% be recommending.
We booked our table online and that was dealt with very efficiently. I did want the hate the place as my sat nav sent me on possibly the most ridiculous roads, or cart tracks anyway, that bypassed anything with tarmac. We eventually arrived, sat in the car for a few minutes to chill and then went inside. There was a lovely fire burning and although the room was busy it wasn't crowded. Service was impeccable and we made our menu choices and had coffee. The menu wasn't huge but there was a nice mix and particularly decent vegan and vegetarian options. Our food was superb with probably the nicest burger I have ever eaten. We rounded this off with sticky plum pudding - fantastic. Service was wonderful, efficient and polite but not intrusive. A really lovely afternoon - thank you.
Amazing setting for a fabulous Inn, where food is delicious and the stuff absolutely kind! We will come back. Highly recommended!
Lovely place with great views from the pub garden and nice indoors too. Didn't try the food but the people that did partake around me looked like they were enjoying it. Great place to go to take advantage of the nice weather.
Absolutely fantastic meal and service, the roast dinners were a good size and all elements cooked beautifully. The sticky toffee pudding was the best either myself or my partner have had - EVER - it melted in your mouth. Comfortable setting with mulled wine and cider in December, oh and it's dog and family friendly too!
Set in tranquil surroundings offering dining inside and out, can recommend the Fish and Chips on Fridays could easily feed two and comes with a free drink.
Great pub, lovely lunch and a pint of Butcombe lager beer. Monster hail storm had me thinking we had better stay for more, but we will be back soon.
We've been coming to Freshford on and off for 12 years for our autumn hols with the dogs. Always a lovely welcome and food was great veggies and vegans very well catered for in terms of choice. Feels traditional but modern and Chicken the pub cat is still the most delightful village floozy
