As a member, the IET is a great place, when I visit London I don't have a base. I frequently stop in for an hour or two to get some work done and have some free tea in the members' lounge. It's very well located next door to the savoy overlooking the river on the embankment.
Lovely venue, fantastic stuff, and delicious food. Also, the opportunity for a workout if you wish to take the stairs to the top floor! Lifts are available
Came here for a work event a few months ago, but the way I was treated before it took place really upset me. First off, I am someone that is neurodivergent and have disabilities that may need me to have a walking stick/ a chair to sit down. If I am going anywhere that is new I look at if the venue is accessible. I see that this is, so would also think that my needs would be accommodated. The event that was taking place was happening around half 9 for registration, and living out of the city I would be arriving early to not be caught up in the overwhelming crowds of commuters. I arrive probably an hour before and get approached by 2 security staff as I come in, immediately putting me on edge. I mention about the event that is taking place in an hour, but would like to sit down somewhere so I can wait for my work colleagues even had my work ID to show who I was against the registration form The reply was a flat out no, there is nowhere for me to sit and I should just go to the park opposite to wait. Considering I had a sunflower lanyard on, it felt like they just didn’t want me there at all so they escorted me out of the building to basically wait around until the registration time. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting in the park but I had to as there was no way of me managing to walk up to a coffee shop that might be open at the time. When I did get back into the building, what did I see? Chairs to sit down on! They could have easily offered me to go and wait in the building on one after checking my credentials with the organisers- who so happened to be there at the time I was there before I got told to come back later. If you are saying your venue is accessible, this is not just for disabilities that are visible like wheelchairs. Please take into account hidden disabilities and neurodivergent individuals and have staff trained to accommodate for that.
Upmarket place for holding conferences and events. I attended a Summit and was impressed by how well organised it was and by the quality of catering. The main conference room is on the ground floor; suitable for a large capacity and with great audio and visual equipment. Upstairs there are several smaller breakout rooms with great views of Waterloo Bridge and the South Bank. It's in easy reach from either Embankment station or temple Station, both served by the Circle and District line.
it was a nice place to attend a workshop, however the reception are not friendly when I request a quite room to do prayer. I am sure it is an individual rude behavior from that guy and the place will have small rooms for the prayer.
Thank you for the experience. As a student member of IET, I really love the ambience, the warmth.
IET London is a fantastic and welcoming place to visit.
Lovely venue for business events, with excellent auditorium, clean and tidy facilities, great views from the balcony, and easy to get to.
Savoy Place, home to the IET is a wonderful building. As a member, I can visit the Faraday lounge; a calm and tranquil place for meeting colleagues or just to work.
Really good event at the IET.
